I know, I know.

Tons of threads have been made about this topic, but i'd like some advice on my situation... OK!?!?

My insurance expires in March, and i'm shopping around early..... i'm paying out my ass currently (due to the fact i had five speeding tickets). Three have come off my record recently, and i also turned 25. Does this drasticly reduce my rate? Who has a good company they could recommend!?

I drive a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire, and with five tickets, i was paying $3600/6 months!! It's gotta get better now right!?!

:nervous:

thats WAAAAAAAY too much money. im with liberty mutual/TD melloche monex or whatever the hell its called. give them a call. personally, i've got a mazda 3 and my insurance is fairly reasonable.

also, if you've got house insurance, life insurance or anything else like that, go to that company. typically speaking, you get discounted rates for putting different types of insurances together.

keep in mind - that was with FIVE speeding tickets, one of which was 54 over the limit......

i'm hoping with two tickets left, i'll be able to get it in the 200-300/month range.

so like you were saying, you don't have to worry about the ones that came of your record. they don't count into the insurance.

go to www.pcfinancial.ca and get an online quote.

it's really easy.

play around with the numbers even, and get the best quote you can.

i was turned down by 8 different companies..... all basically said the only one that would accept me was co-operators. had to drive to get to work, so had no choice!!

they said if i had six tickets, my insurance would be taken away - and i wouldnt be able to drive in the province of ontario.....

GREAT CHOICE

PC Insurance is underwriten by Aviva Canada (the largest insurance company in Canada). They are new to the market so right now they are writing at a loss to attract market share. This means they will charge less premium then nearly anyone else assuming that you fit the class of business they are trying to attract.

FYI, 3 tickets coming off will make some difference but the 25 part will be major. Also, you may want to look at increasing your collision deductible as a way to same premium.

true....the 2 or 3 tickets that are left on your record will impact it but i dont think thats a reasonable amount. I have a ticket that i got while on my bike for speeding (63 over the limit...it was on highway 7 and i just couldnt resist!!! :D ) and also got careless driving for that.

seems to me like they pulled "3600 for 6 months" out of their asses. i dont think its reasonable at all.

good point. also, one thing that i did was take off the windshield coverage. ask them over the phone what kinda little things you can take off to save bits and pieces of cash. you'd be surprised how it could add up.
