EVERYBODY HAVE FUN TONIGHT, EVERYBODY WANG CHUNG TONIGHT
Eli's hilarious, yet awesome, last track of the night with Porter and Reavey in the Dj booth dancin' away...Amazing ender to one of the best nights of my life...(Eli I know you'll be reding this review!!!)
Where to Begin....Met up with the usual suspects...Tag, Lopi, Jester, Hakim, Val....and went right into Stereobar for our warm up dose of the "Boston Mafia's" Henchmen Chris Reavey...Absolute perfect wamrup choons and bangin' choons at the same time....A mix of funky, deep, sexy, beats.
Went up to introduce myself to Chris as a big fan of his productions and collaborations with Steve Porter...He couldn't have been a nicer guy...Gave me three cds of some new hot Micali, Reaver, and Porter Tracks...Thanks again Chris...
Then near the end of his set, Porter came into Stereobar with Eli, and the Boston crew of friends of the Boston Mafia...all amazing people danced and partied until the end with us....Porter remembered me from Aria in last summer, and we got to chatting...what a solid guy.
Xl came on the decks with -Kings of Tomorrow 6pm- (MTV and Marc Knight Remix) what a banger...hadn't seen XL since I opened for him at Surface in Ottawa 3 years sgo...he looks trim! Good to see him again, he's an amazing DJ...danced to most of his set with Reavey, Porter and the rest of the boston crew....Amin, I gave your buddy who took the pics of us with porter my e-mail...I NEED THOSE PICS!! Nice to meet u man.
This is where i also met the legendary mtlnights man...The guy whose petition we all signed to get him unbanned from stereo, because Morales was being mean.....What a great guy..stayed to the end...will seem him soon no doubt..
Also met Cristina..(Babelicious)and her friends at Stereobar near the end...and then we all went into the main room for madness...
The Vibe when we got into the main room, was electric.... I didn't like Mr6minutebuildupDJwithnoreword DJ who opened for Porter..But it didn't matter..Porter was about to murder the joint..
Porter came on hard, banging that Mauro Picotto remix of funkytown...JEBUS.....this was to be the set of sets...man
PORTER FUKIN' KILLLLLLLLLD IT
Bangin' madness after bangin' track...non-stop PORTERHOUSE set....The deepest sexiest funky Progressive/House I've ever heard in my life....He's an absolute genius with his tight mixes, deadly track selection, and INTESNE energy....Goosebumps I have now just thinking about it listening to The Chris Reavey and Chris Micali Track "Stop", that Chris gave to me...and Porter played at some point throughout his set...

Thanks again to Chris, for the bracelets to go up and see Porter,and Eli spin...it was a sight to see!
Steve Played fore a solid 4 hours...non stop killer no filler.
Saw Kendo for the first time at stereobar...then up on the main floor going hard the whole time...great guy...and fun dude to party with..
Eli came on at around 7:45, and took us to a whole different level...His darker, deeper beats were the perfect fit for after Porter, it was an amazing set..and Eli, such a cool guy, and just like Porter so much energy, and originality behind the wheels...I will not miss him ever when he comes to town....
Eli closed the night with his encore track of
"Free Ride" *free ride as Eli's arms going up everytime that sample played...All the Boston Mafia in the Dj booth dancin hard to the last track "Free Ride" by the Edgar Winter Group (some nasty remix!!!)

Sick, was hilarious and amazing way to close one of the best musical experiences of my life....What a night
Great to meet the Boston Mafia Full force...These guys from Boston, a city with really no huge scene, have come to our city and showed us what talent and originality can do...Watch for these guys...move over Sweedish mafia....there are new Dons in town.....
Stereobar was amazing..great place to chill out and have a beer after stereo..and some not bad choons from Just Johnathan.
Was amazing to party with the TA crew....Hakim, Anne, Erika, Nick, Brendan, Cris, Alex, Juan, Mo, Dan, Val, Jessie...and nice to meet 2deep and elie...and any others I'm forgetting...what a night to remember.
Afterparty::::::::
Julian, he's a TA, but I foget his TA name...thank you so much for the hospitality and near 10 hour set on Ableton live...You are a musical genius, and can't wait for your demo mix you said you'd post on TA...This guy is a fakin' ninja behind the wheels....just banging choon after bangin choon...Great way to sloe the night off with Erika, Brendan, Nick, Hakim, Anne, and Alex...ing hour cabride to the west island fakin traffic on ST.Johnsssssssssss
ahh but what a reward....Amaretto (and tons of it) and some Molson Ex followed by hard bangin choons by Julian.

props to Erika Nick and Hakim for hanging out till the very end...and chillin all day...definately one to remember..Erika playing on Ableton!!! (she's got potential) Brendan drunk after 2 beers int he afternoon laughing his ass off...so were we all...it was a funny day..

Just woke up, still tired. Sorry guys for leaving julius'place so early i was not feeling that great and had such a big headake. It was fun chilling with you guys for the time I stayed. Would like to talk more but enlish is not my first language. Julius is a really great DJ. Erika était bouche bée à quelque reprise :D
I arrived at stereobar around 2h and the guy told me there were no more bracelets so he let me enter free in the bar but after I had to pay 35$ to get into Stereo. J'étais frustrée un peu mais aniways ça a vraiment valu la peine. What a crazy night! got to meet Porter, very nice guy! and got to meet so many TA's
Erika (stereohead) you ARE the party girl omg so fun to dance and party with you! Even at stereobar after,nothing can stop you!:eyes: Hakim was cool talking to you because I didn't see you a lot on the dancefloor! what can I say? the luck was with you last night! Ninja: always a pleasure! Sorry during the night, few times I was telling you something and you understood something else like for exemple : I want another pill. And it was not what I wanted to say at all,:nervous: but I couldn'T remember what I wanted to say at first. It was frustrating! Tag, orlando bloom (hehe), Lopi,Light78, Enjoy, Jesteraver, Kendo, Babelicious, Am I forgetting anyone?

It was my first time to Stereo and not the last! I understand Erika now when she say she's a stereohead! ;)

omg that night was so sick !! i got in at stereobar, music was awesome at the bar. i met steve porter, he is the coolest DJ ever !!!
We went to stereo around 3, first DJ playing was OK, but the next was STEVE PORTER !!!!!!! He spun one of the best house set i've heard !!
sickest tacks of the night : mylo - muscle car (sander kleinenberg remix) and Phillipe B - Can u feel it.... stereo sound system was soo crazy , the sound was really amazing, tho a little too loud !!!
Stereo vibe was funkn amazing ! it was very very nice to chill with: Brendan, Anne, Jesse, Val, Alex(ninja), Alex(lopi), Nick, Erika, Kendo .................. and soo many other funkn cool ppl !

yah, fun night. watched as recently outed friend made out with four dudes at once, obviously totally distracted from music which was killer nonetheless. never been to stereo with such a good turn out. usually so packed that the whirling tornado of death (my dancing) ends up injuring dozens, but with some room to breathe, the path of destruction just ended up with new blisters and an aching jaw. since i've never heard porter before (total loser, i know) was totally psyched that the house was appreciably diva-free (sorry, it suits my girlfriend that is actually a 400 pound drag queen in the wrong body but doesn't bode well with the conditioned to lynerd and pixies soupbrain that i trail like a bad case of vibes). s.p. attacked the decks ferociously making the unavoidable booty shakin' a constant factor that needed immediate consideration or risk self-combustion. reflective statement: recent shows reinspired faith and awe in societal trajectory, plus indefatigable belief in the genial natures of crazy people. word.
afterparty: drinking 40s with crazy lesbians while discussing whether or not trees dream is the surest path to higher consciousness. |
