^^I kid
I work with them almost everyday of my life (it's my job), and I will be in training to be a chef also
My fav:
Toro- Melts in your mouth
Hamachi- Buttery taste, love it
Mirugai aka Giant Clam- wierd texture, but great and hard to find
Amaebi- fav part is the fried head, but the shrimp itself is great
Uni- Unique taste, either love it or hate it....and I LOVE it
Saba- Fishy taste but yet the taste is what got me hooked, topped with some green onions and with ponzu sauce :eyespop:
Still looking to try blowfish....
Gotta love sushi!!!! |

weak is the wrong reference when you talk about spice as a taste
it's personal preference versus traditional use and having extra amount of wassabi is of your choice but not traditionally how sushi is consumed. i wouldnt deem one weaker than the other based on the amounts of wassabi they place in their soy sauce. honestly wassabi is more of a compliment to saki and does not accent the taste of true raw fish, if anything it masks it. in corrolation to your analogy, i'd say the more wassabi the weaker the person is - be it they'd rather mask the raw fish taste with the spice and not fully take on the raw fish taste. ya get my drift?
anyways we are all different, most reference here pertains to the traditional ways of consuming sushi. I'd highly recommend to give saki a whirl with your sushi. the combination of saki (warm or cold to your liking), ginger, wassabi, and raw fish have an eclectic taste which can not be matched by any other cuisine.
also, i'd highly recommend everyone to go out and TRY to make their own sushi. Don't be scared, it's more of a fun thing rather than a "i'll mess up and waste my money" ideology. once you learn how to make the rice properly and the rolling techniques, you'll find yourself mixing and matching, tasting, approving, and experimenting. It always turns out to be a sushi fest!

remember to swallow the ginger first to clean out your pallet. It tastes like but it's proper & gives good breath. |
i love the taste of pickled ginger and ginger in general. it's not only does it clean your pallet but it's anti-bacterial. yum yum eat up. |
