[OFFICIAL REVIEW] Armada Night @ Spundae LA w/ Armin Van Buuren, Rank 1, Remy & More (pg. 6)

I LOVE SUNSHINE & COLE! They are the best. I start my night night off at Spundae with a Cole hug and end my night with a Sunshine hug! YAY!
Ok Time for my review:
Mike and Kris come pick up DA and I a little after 8. We get to Spundae and we have no issues with Parking and no hassles geting in! Well Paying $20 for a spot is Crazy! Parking makes a killing on special event nights:whip:
At 9 the doors open and people start comming in. This is also the perfect time to go to the bar and Grab a few drinks. More TA's start to arive. Soon we are all on the dance floor close to the front moving to the groovy beats of Remmy. I do not think the TA's danced in a group like that in such a long time. That in itself was amazing.
Remmy's set did start off pretty mellow but his last 1.5 hours where so so GOOD! The main room was not packed yet so there was plunty of room to dance and say hi to people.
Interstate starts a little late but when it comes to a live show it is start on time it seems like. To be honset with you I was not feeling Interstate that much untill Colleen Kelly sang. The set they did at Heaven was a lot better. But then again it was longer. Not much you can do in 30 minutes.
So I take the time to walk around. From the cornor of my eye I see Armin so I walk over with Kris to say hi! We where lucky and got to do so before the Mob started. He walks away with a train of people following.
Once he is spoted in side the Dj booth it is uber Crazy. All of a Sudden people started comming from no where and it got so packed in the front where I was. I was getting pushed and shoved in every direction and did not want to be anywhere near the front of the booth. I would have been so cramed up there. So I was 3-4 people back.
Armin starts off his set with Mark Otten So Sercene. Such an amazing beautiful Track. The next 2 where amazing as well. But I could not handle all drunk Fubar people pushing and shoveing so I got off the dance floor and went to the right side of the DJ booth. I hardly leave the dance floor but I have a very tough time getting into the music when it is that Crazy! After a quick cool down I found my way back to dance near Kris and the other TA's
I love Armin's stage Presence. He gets so into the crowd and really enjoys what he is doing. I even saw him look at Kris and a few other lucky people makeing that extra speical connection. His set was also amazing. So full of energy.
I had to leave the dance floor again for the second time! Again I was getting pushed and shoved too much. I also had to get protection from Jason since a guy litterly wraped himself on me. I can handle the penis Dance but I can not handle that. This time I saw the spot to the left of the DJ booth open. And I got up on the booth and started Takeing picrures. I was so lucky that the Guiv let me be up there. There wasn't much room to dance that killed my feet but I was really close to Armin! :D We even did a little dorky dance. Armin was also kind enough to sign what ever came his way. He is the offical rock star now since he signed a boob! :haha:

Marco V- False Light- The track after it was sooooo AMAZING! I should have asked for the ID.
Tracking Tresure Down-
Shivers- Armin actully turned down the vol. So the crowd could sing along! AMAZING!
Did he Play Cubicated- It sure sounded like it.
Even though I enjoyed Armin's set alot there where some parts that where iffy for me.
Rank 1 gets on the decks and hits the crowd with Rank 1 Breathing the Breaks dub. WOOOO HOOOO! I love this Track. I see Kris walk by so I go with her since Armin was about to leave the booth. Bam! The mob happend again. There where so many rude people wanting his attention. It was unreal. :eyes: He barly excaped and was followed by yet another train of people.
I decided that this was the perfect time to run and get DA's Record so I could get it signed. Back in the DJ booth I went and got that signed and hid it so no one could steal it. :D :D :D
Rank 1's set was all right. I did enjoy it but there seemed to be no real flow to it. There where some amaizing tracks with beautiful buildups and break downs.
Again I see Armin and say hello and good bye and Kris also runs into him doing the same. :D
It is 4am and the lights come on. And Spundae is still packed with people and they wanted more. Bam he drops Airwave(Breathing) the orgi. :eyes: The track that DA wanted to hear so bad was the last tack of the night. And the perfect track to end the evening.
After Rank 1 is done he stays for a bit to sign some stuff talk with fans and take picures.
The night is not over and with a 5th wind in me it was off to Bob's for the offical after party! At least 30 people showed up! :crazy:
Such a great way to end such a great weekend. :)
I took a lot of pictures and some vid's too. I am going threw them now :D
A huge Thank you goes out to all the TA's present DA, Sara, Bob, Gil, Riia, Cristal, Jullie, Chris, Mike, Kris, Boomer, Starboy and Stargir, Don, JT, Spundae Founder, Rukes, Evan, Jessie, Michelle (Bommer's Friend), Bjorn, Aj... plus many many more! I had so much fun. I even met some new TA's as well!! :D |

I really liked the 11AM-2PM headliner slot. Most of the time when I leave the club, I am wet and get sick afterwards. This time I was dry.
Also, when the headliner ends at the end, there is a huge amount of people leaving at the same time. This time, there were not many people.
Considering I parked way too far, I was very happy with the set time.
I could suggest Circus to improve the parking situation, but it is not in their control. They could limit the tickets, but they want to make as much as possible. They could increase the ticket price, but then nobody would go. I am a beating a beaten dead horse.
Needless to say, I prefer old circus with the renovated restroom. |

| Many may not agree with me, but I believe Armin held back at times. I'm not saying it wasn't a good set - in fact it was better than a lot of his I've heard recently, but he could have even shined more. I think he may have done this to set up his label mate, Rank 1, which to me speaks a lot of good about Armin. It's not just about him. Even he controls or adjusts his set for the next dj. A lot of openers need to understand this. Of course Armin pounded at times, but he brought it back down a bit before Rank 1. I know one girl out there that totally agrees with me, but I don't think I've ever seen her post. |
