There was a few awile ago but I dont see them much, probably because it gets dull reading through the endless cycle of teen angst, unrequited love and post pics of semi naked raver girls in a signature that takes up half the page even though they typed something like 'lol' as a reply.

this is the thing that probably irritates me the most about this board. miss_e, i dont know if you ever saw the miss tranceaddict thread but you should check it out.. those kinda things were discussed.
it definitely is fun (if by fun i mean annoying) to open up a thread and see naked girls every other signature. if i wanted to see that, id go to a porn site. shrug.
i talked in the miss tranceaddict thread about how really, this board isnt very conducive to females at all, so its no wonder not a lot post. its not that girls dont like trance, but coming onto a board where 95% of the threads are male oriented, or about "post 87 pages of naked/hot clubbing girls" threads (in fact, whod have thought!!!! theres a huge on on the first page), or reading endless replies by guys who post before realizing girls might actually read their threads, i dunno. quite a deterrent i think.

I'm not wondering why there is a lack of females. Personally i think that all these naked or semi naked raver threads are just really an indication of what lows society has dropped to. This is real world these days and personally i'm sorry that it has got bad to the point.
Keep posting and hopefully more girls or women (whatever politically correct term, you ppl use). I guess the only thing that i look at then is how low will society go? to achieve pleasure. |

i dont there is any girl on this board that will not agree that the media and society nowadays does put a huge, huge, huge, huge value on how a woman looks. and if a woman says she isnt affected by it, i think she is lying.
hell, im 5'2 and i weigh 110 pounds, but i STILL sometimes think i need to drop a few pounds, flab in certain areas, etc. i know its all in my head, but i dunno. our society nowadays does seem to say you need to have a flat stomach, large breasts, and look a certain way to be attractive.. and yanno, most guys id venture to say think that too. and a lot of girls, seeing guys think this way too, sometimes buy into it also.. its really sad. but there are a lot of beautiful women in the world who feel they need to aspire to look like these sort of pics people keep posting of naked girls in their sigs or in threads... (im not talkin about girls on this board, just in general).
i doubt itll get any better either. as long as guys keep getting brainwashed since birth that the perfect woman looks like a pseudo barbie doll, something that only like 1% of all women in the world can attain in physical stature and appearance, they will continue to be visually oriented towards those types of women. and of course, sex sells.
heh but this is getting slightly off topic now :p
the other thing i think is funny is whenever i make a response like this, a few guys always have to respond and say im being negative and stupid.. hah |

I don't want to turn this into a sex battle, but the ammunition your applying in your argument could be aimed at your side as well. Have you ever seen how women act at a chippendale-like show? Or noticed the physical silmilarities between male models/popular male actors?
Elaborating on this, notice how if you go to a night club/bar you won't see little, overweight, pale, red-haired guys with thick glasses being center of attention, and consequently notice how guys are wearing contacts, going to the gym etc. We are just as prone to live up to some beauty ideal as you girls are.
As I see it, being beautiful is the most desired quality in the western world of today, with intelligence and personality at a distant second and third - no matter if you're a woman or a man. |

I agree with your views. You will never find me posting gratuitous pictures. (of women, at least.... can't say the same for farmanimals). On the other hand, you can't blame these guys for doing this... you have it right when you say its the media's fault... society raises people to think that way. My girlfriend is no barbie doll (proportion-wise)... but i will admit that it was physical attraction first....
I mean, lets face it. No guy is going to walk up to an un-attractive girl in the mall (or whatever) and think to himself "hey, maybe she's smart or funny." Call me shallow.... i call it honest. Guys instinctively want the girls that look hot, and if they are smart or funny, thats just a bonus ;)
But, half of the sigs you guys are referring to, women are used in more of an artistic manner than just flat-out gratuitous nudity. And i don't really think its guys being exploitative. In my opinion, if guys are posting pictures of naked or semi-naked chicks, then they aren't getting any ;) :toothless (*note: this does not mean that just b/c a guy doesn't post a pic of a naked girl that he IS getting any.... LoLz...)
Sothis, if it would make you happy, just send me a full-length shot of you in a bikini and i'll make it my sig! ;) :p (horizontal, of course!)
