To add to the one-sidedness of the referees...
Two times in a row the Steelers were blatantly offside during a vital part of the last eight minutes of the game. I'm talking not just slightly being offsides, but being very noticeable offsides. Did the refs call it? No. |

Yea... and these are from papers all over the country. |

Have any sites yet made note of the fact that Mike Holmgren failed to shake Cowher's hand after the game? | He probably didn't shake his hand because shaking the hand is usually a sign of respect for the team that beat you in a good fair game. Now, Bill Cowher is a good coach, and he coached a good team, but the game probably left such a bitter taste in Holgren's mouth that the thought of not shaking hands was saying you to the NFL.
It's not just Seahawk fans who saw this game as bull, there is an overwhelming majority of people who saw pass the bull. The seahawks were playing a better game in the first half, and no one can deny that. There lack of momentum later in the game came from a feeling of knowing that their every move might be penalized, which makes them very conservative about how the play the game. Between towchdowns being taken away and quaterbacks making tackles that get penalized, as well as the commentators questioning almost every penalty, I'd say the NFL has some explaining to do. |

From DaveT's article he posted: | Exactly, some people are right when the say in various other games that "penalties had nothing to do with victories" or "the other team was just playing better" or "outplaying them."
If you think that about this game, you are just ing retarded. Nuff said.
There's no way the Steelers would have won if the game was played equally. The Seahawks outplayed them, but were held back by the refs, who were in fact the MVP's of this game if I may say so. |

you can see from what it would have could have been the hawks may have still lost with the plays being called correctly that mattered. There were also the big gain plays that weren't scoring plays that stopped the momentum of that drive.
Stevens dropping passes didnt help either :sadgreen: |

i missed most of the game but seeing the 4th quarter was enough to convince me.
perhaps the most telling aspect is how the Steelers basically blew out the last two teams in the playoffs (including my Broncos), yet they struggled to look mediocre against the Seahawks other than on 'gadget' plays.
the stats favored Seattle in everyway imaginable.
the best was when they called Hasselbeck for an 'illegal block' - for the Steelers somehow - when he fell trying to tackle the interceptor. And then the Steelers had an illegal block pentalty called back in a later series| |

| Fact of the matter is, how is Randle-El still walking after being bent backwards like that. Everyone I was watching the game with cringed at the site of it, especially when he was on the ground grabbing his back in pain - I was not expecting to see him back in the game at all. |

| You know, It's very typical of the losing team to cry foul after losing a big game. You could clearly see that the ball broke the plain to score that one touchdown. once the ball is over the line, It's a touchdown, Even after the ball carier was pushed back. |

I dont think anyone is disputing that.
Lets see...
Darrell Jackson in the endzone called offensive pass interference (I give credit to Hope though, he did a good acting job, and thats was sold the call)
Jeremy Stevens on the 1 yard line, play called for a holding (Again, this is all about where the officials were standing when they saw it. These plays take seconds to happen and all you can see is that the OL's arm is around Porter and Porter is going down - its only on the instant replay can you see that the OL didnt grab him.)
That penalty that was called on Matt Hasselback for a low black was not a good call. Thats an easy no call that they screwed up on. |
