dude, by the 4th generation the blacks should be able to get out of poverty. if you have every taken any kind of Minority Relations class they will tell you, 4th generation immigrants enter normal middle class society.
i'm telling you that in a free society there should never be a favor from one group to the next... democracy will play itself out, affirmative action was not something we voted on. |

Look man. Even if that were true, affirmative action is by definition racist. So how are you going to get rid of racism by institutionalizing it? That's the problem with affirmative action. |

i agree with you allcentury,
i think it's unfair. "generally" speaking, black society lives with the mentality that people owe them something. well, some might say, 'they were persecuted, they were enslaved.' and no one is denying that, but they are not the first race to go through something like that, get over it. i mean, who are their leaders today, quanell x, using the race card everytime he gets the chance.
reverend sharpton, (if you can call him a reverend), asking for reparations.:wtf: ask the young boys what they want to be when they grow up, and 9/10 will say either rapper or basketball star.
are these your dreams, your hopes that get out of poberty?
now i'm not saying black people are lazy or stupid, etc.,
i'm saying the programs that were instilled to help a race that has been here since the dawn of America, are apparently not working, when around 90% of black society are still living under the poberty line.
but there are more races benefiting from these programs, and that is true. if you look at hispanic society in general, by the time the second/third generation starts comming around, we are usually breaking into lower middle class. so you say, 'why do i see so many broke hispanic people.' well, because they keep comming in great numbers from all over central america, south america, and mexico. what you keep seeing is the new immigrants fighting for a better future.
asian society, man, what can i say about them. FECK. they have the community thing down. they help each other find places to live, somewhere to work. in a few years, that old toyota/honda is a Benz, BMW, or Lexus.
these are just the ramblings from a minority who lives in houston TX,
based on the things i have seen and experienced. came here when i was 3, graduated top of my class. currently attending Univeristy of Houston, last semester before i graduate. no one handed me , and i didn't ask for it. i worked for everything i have. it's not that fecking hard.
of course, there are exceptions to the rule, and so on.... |

I was going to college at Loyola in Chicago and they didnt give me good financial aid and it is and expensive school so I spent hours in the financial aid office trying to get scolarships and they said sorry we dont have any so i had to max out my student loans.
and my black friend told me he got a full ride at loyola cause they have a "diversity" program.
Another time this black girl wanted to date me and when i got to know her i found out she lives in the projects and she never works and she gets welfare and food stamps
and I asked her why dont you work what makes you think you are so special that you dont have to work? And she basically said well your race enslaved my ancestors bla bla so she thinks welfare and public housing is reparations |
