Why the can't you respect somebody elses opinion to begin with??? Because we have different taste in music???? And by the way i was born here and have lived in this country for 15 years so don't give me that bull about leaving because i don't like the
music and stuff. There's other aspects of life u know besides music!!!!! I'm open to criticism as long as it is constructive!!!!!!As for the other noob who answered, "Ade kai gamisou"

The funny thing is that it might not have as much trance in ny as some of us but trance djs(tiesto, ferry, armin, pvd) draw more crowds that all the house djs combined together!!!!!!! As for my knowledge of EDM ask people in the tracklisting section and they'll let u know!!!!!!!!!

You're funny.

wow, you just sound very dumb now. who's disrespecting music tastes? certainly isn't me. i'm just making fun of the way you came on strong with YOUR opinions of the music. i respect every genre of edm.

what you dont seem to understand is that YOU were the one disrespecting 'gay ass house '. why don't you follow what you preach?

uhm. no, you don't. but i would like to see you prove it. i'm 25 too btw, what difference does that make? (i lied, i'm actually 24.)

You obviously not intelligent enough to understand what i was trying to say!!!!!I never liked house like the kinds of morillo, tenaglia, roger sanchez, bob siclair and the like etc. which is what most new yorkers seem to prefer !!!!!!!!!!I've been following trance and progressive for many years because i had the privelege to grew up in europe where they appreciate the music more !!!!!!!! I just expressed my disgust with the whole scene over here!!!!!!!And its obvious i'm not the only who feels that way!!!!!!

and You're obviously not intelligent enough to understand what I was trying to say... ie, that once again, i'm not disrespecting anyone's tastes in Any kind of music, but simply this:

1> how could you even BEGIN to say that any certain region of the world appreciates much more than another??

2> for 12 years, every summer i went to europe to be with my family. do u see me sitting here bragging about that, or saying that i know more about music and that people there appreciate music more? NO- because we're all human beings and everywhere on earth people appreciate music just the same.

3> i've been following all types of edm, especially trance and prog, for years now too. do u want a medal?

uh.. what happened to "i had the privelege to grew up in europe where they appreciate the music more !!!!!!!!" :conf: are you a habitual liar or something? LOL.

wow, you know tracks. damn, i see that you're very edm-educated now.

u want some constructive criticism and insight on the scene? here ya go young squire: the trance djs gather more at their gigs simply because they're the most popular. they are the most popular djs because trance is a gateway genre, ie trance is the genre that people get attached to first when they first listen to EDM as a whole. yet, over a period of time that varies per individual, a good 90% still may enjoy and discover trance music yet they also filter out and discover other types of EDM-- like the myriad of subgeneres under the umbrella terms of drumnbass, house, progressive, jungle, ambient, chill out, techno, etc.

and it's really sad that you inferred that the trance DJs are the best because they "must be the best if they constantly pack the clubs more than another other dj"... since when did popularity mean being the best in the first place? that's like the old saying "if all your friends jumped off a cliff, would you?" apparently, you would. but i dont expect you to understand that proverbial utterance.

ps: using more exclamation points won't make your points seem any more valid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally we're getting somewhere except for your first sentence!!!!!!I admit i came too strong dissing on your favorite style of music!!! !!!!!The term EDM is totally misconstrued nowadays imo because its very general!!!!You can't possibly like every genre of EDM but thats me!!!I exclusively listen and follow trance and progressive(more towards the trancey progressive)and some techno for about 9 years now.Maybe because i don't follow as closely some of the other genres of EDM and because the style that i like does not get the exposure that i would like it to get in this city led me to say the things that i did.I din't mean to offend and disrespect nobody' taste of music,i just expressed my opinion. I was just pissed off that a lot of people didn't show up for this great event.

was expecting an (ignor)/(arrog)ant New York Trance Addict answer like this one... for the record, Europe sure does appreciate music more than the United States does; of course im speaking in generalities, but the average European appreciates music (whether trance, house, whatever) more than the average American... i can write a book about this, but ill just leave it at that.

Why is it always a competition between the two.. sometimes I feel househeads have a complex and have to talk about Trance any chance they get.

How about you like listening to what you like and leave it at that? So lame.

Also, on the front of music appreciation - I will agree that the culture in many European countries is much more open to dance music in comparison to North America... Over here most people have no idea what 'Dance' music is - and all EDM is 'Techno'.

i think most of us would agree that vocal house is more of the gateway genre than trance... every city and country has their Vic Latino and Louie DeVito's and playing "as the rush comes" is about as trance as they have gone.... sorry to say, but the ignorant guidos, whiny bitches, meatheads, and G-heads you all hate are just as numerous at house events as they are at trance, if not MORE.... clubs like DNA and Webster Hall arent playing electronica like Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Armin, or Ferry, theyre playing the latest HOUSE music.... sure its commercial, but its still house.... dont say trance is the gateway genre, because especially in New York, it isnt.
