Don't be so sure yet. This team is lacking in many ways...the D-Men are too big and slow, namely Pronger, evne though he scored a beauty. McCabe is a dumbass and he takes dumbass penalties. How Stahl (the 3rd scoring leader in the NHL!) and Spezza are not on this team, I'll never know. Even Crosby would have created some goal scoring chances, something we need desperately. 8 shots in two periods yesterday was ing horrible.
But, Canada's record against Russia/USSR is quite admirable. Actually, the only time their best beat our best (the Olympics during which we sent our amateurs does not count) was in the 1981 Canada Cup. In 72, 76, 84, 87, 91, we thrashed their asses, as well as in the 04 WC. |

hmmm...i still think Canada will win gold...the prelims mean nothing and i have a feeling the players played accordingly...after a week they are used to the altittude and the time zone...
