Amazing white labels, mashups, bootlegs, and all. That's why I didn't mind paying the exorbitant price of shipping to get records from them sent to the US from the UK (even after the GBP --> USD conversion).
AFTER WAITING A GODDAMN YEAR AND A HALF, with e-mails and international calls sent back and forth, and reaching NOWHERE, would you believe that I actually went to the UK (when I was travelling around Europe), took an hour's train ride to their damn shop next to Butt Egypt's Domino's Pizza, yelled at their asses for half an hour... before they finally gave me credit back and 3 free vinyls?
Funny part is, I told them that I still want my order, but that they can't charge my credit card until they ship the order.
Still haven't received it, and don't expect to any time soon.

I guess im fairly lucky. Vinyl Warning in Melbourne has the best customer service I have recieved in any business ever.
I order an external soundcard from a different store that was in a different state a while ago and they sent the card right away but then told me the cable was out of stock. It took the 4 weeks to get me the damn cable! They only realy said anything once i emailed them.
After reading this thread i am greatfull it was only a $40 cable |

Gossip!
There is a rumour going around at the moment that suggests that HTFR have been prosecuted for sales of unlicensed bootlegs and so on. In addition they have apparently lost both of their vinyl cutters as they had them taken away.
Bottom line is that they alegedly got into some deep sh!t because of this. About time too.
As I said, I have not been able to confirm this but the source is pretty reliable.
Cheers

Hah, that sounds pretty 'amazing' if true.
I had a really bad experience the last (and final) time I ordered from Juno. I bought 17 records off them in a big batch purchase, I'd not had to use their 'customer service' before besides with ordering. One of the records arrived with a huge dent in it like someone had dropped a screwdriver on it from a great height - it was in the middle of the package so couldn't have been due to the post.
I e-mailed them and they asked me to send the record back to them, and I'd be sent a new copy, and they'd cover the postage mostly too of sending it back. So I thought cool, that sounds fine. I waited about a week and the new record arrived. I opened the package.
It was the same record with the exact same dent in it. Maybe all of the copies of that record were manufactured in the same way? I don't think so :P
That's not where it stopped either. I sent it back again and got the same record back again. Such rank incompetence. I just gave up eventually so now I have a nice dented record which is neither use nor ornament! |
