Imagine a beach where the sky is always blue, it's never too hot or cold, the water isn't filled with salt and pollution, and the surf is always perfect - welcome to Ocean Dome, the world's only indoor beach. Amazing photos.

Dubai Desert & Snowboarding?

quote:
Ski Dubai has 5 runs that vary in difficulty, height and steepness, the longest run being 400 meters with a fall of over 60 meters. Test your skills on the world’s first indoor black run or practice your turns on the gentle beginner slopes. Skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels will enjoy these various slopes and snowboarders can also practice their stunts on the 90-metre long quarter pipe. Kids and parents alike will have fun in the huge interactive Snow Park, which at 3000 square meters is the largest indoor snow park in the world.

Ok so NYC has to be the mecca of every global institution (financially atleast), with a melting pot of MILLIONS IN POPULATION, yet so far behind in extreme engineering? Don't think something like this would net MILLIONS if it were built somewhere accessible to the city? Fact or fiction, the truth is it'll be a gold mine!

Wow. They are nuckin futs! I guess something like that could be done here ... but I think NYC would rather spend it's money on residential stuff since we're running out of space as it is. It would still be awsome if it were done though.

these things are tacky I think...although they are good ideas but places like Japan and Dubai are far away from Mountians and the Carribean...its a what 3 hour drive to a ski resort and a 3 hour plane ride to the tropics why spend multi millions on something like that?

MMmmmMMMM yes....nothing better than being crammed into a pseudo-pool, i mean beach, with half of Spanish Harlem and Washington Heights.....i sure hope salt water is in that pool, or some disinfectent.

There is a reason Robert Moses built those bridges so low on the highway to Jones Beach...figure it out.
