i hope thats just a figure of speech.

getting the belt every once in a while is fine, but if a kid is beaten senseless then thats just going to far. also, physical disciplining isn't necessary. a lot depends on how you talk to the kid, what you teach them, etc.

creative license... for sure not senseless. different time different methods. Definately in todays society, a different approach is required.

hahah no different than raising a pup. It can end up a respectful nice dog, or a vicious killer..

Hey all.

I would just like to give you a perspective on how things are here in Denmark.

We are also coming to the point where we are having huge problems with these thugs, mostly foreigners, who go about stabbing people in the nightlife. The guns are not here yet, well they have been noted in some secluded episodes but it is not nearly the same as in the US.

The nightlife here is ed. There are hardly any trance/alternative music clubs around, because there is simply no market. All people want here is hip-hop and rap. I despise that sort of music, because I find it all to be quite trivial and i am quite frankly bored with hearing the same people singing about crime, people dying, selling drugs and other stuff of the sort.

The fact that the majority of the clubbers began to listen to hip-hop only, also had a huge impact on the general atmosphere. All you have to do is to look at someone, and a few seconds after you will have a knife in your stomach. The so-called thugs here are foreigners who have come to Denmark, and failed to adjust. They do not carry the sole responsibility, but there have been conducted studies which concluded that the largest percentage of youngsters in prison, are foreigners.

It's also interesting, because it seems that the world has gotten the impression that we are treating them wrong and that we aren't respecting their religion, culture and so forth. I hope that people from the outside world understands that we are doing everything in our power, but it is in some cases not enough because these people are coming from countries that have been torn by war and they are thus lacking an understanding of how a society is build. Some choose to try and learn it, others don't and those who don't are the ones who are causing the problems for the rest of us.

Luckily, it is not my intention to stay in Denmark for the rest of my life. Life is too short, and I am not happy here. The only thing keeping me here, is the education that I am in the middle of. After that, then i'm gone.

It's kinda funny to think of it because we have everything here. No one is starving, free education and so forth, but that doesn't necessarily make for the population to be happy.

don't blame hip-hop, rather, blame the hoes that worship the 'thugs'.

I love living in Rexdale *cough cough*

Toronto is reminding me more and more of the not so good parts of New York everyday.....:nervous:

I try as hard as I can not to go east of spadina on weekends after 10pm. there is nothing attractive about that area of downtown whatsoever, and thankfully, none of the clubs I go to are in that area. If I go out anymore, it's usually to footwork or the drake.

Toronto clubs may have a ghetto side to them, but it is nothing compared to a place like Windsor.
As much as I love my hometown it has resorted to having an entire downtown area that caters to the 19-21 year old american crowd.

Because of that, all the bars are full of teenagers who can't hold their booze, come over have no respect fot the country, its citizens, or its laws.
There are fights and problems 10 fold of what there is here.

There may be some problems here, but it is good compared to some places.
