Sorry Caela but I agree with Nitzsche on this point. If you're too weak to handle the world then you should really take yourself out of it. There is no higher virtue then the well timed death, nothing more tragic then dieing too early, and nothing more sad then living too long. He has to be the judge on this one but if he thinks he can't hack it then I say go ahead and spare yourself the suffering. |
Nietzsche > all
Though I don't believe anyone is "too weak to handle the world." If you believe you're too weak to handle it, you are. If you believe you're strong enough to conquer your problems, you are. |

The biggest problem with suicide is when you doing it actually does have an extremely negative affect on other people.
I know people will always say, oh its selfish, blah blah blah, how could he do that, but those people are just selfish themselves, and are angry that you have left them, and they cannot suck whatever they were getting out of you before.
The only time you should feel obligated not to do what you feel is right with your life is when you have created responsibilies on yourself, such as children. On the otherhand, lots of dads or whatever will just ing leave their family, which is just the same as commiting suicide from the kids point of view really...
So if you don't have like that, do what you feel is right for yourself, whatever that may be. Just don't leave a burden on other people, don't leave a blame game suicide note, just make it clear that you did what you felt was right for yourself, and you wouldn't have it any other way, and that people should respect your decision. |

Well, by him creating this thread, its clear that he probably won't do it.
All he wants is attention, or whatever, someone to talk to.
I think that in most cases, a proper suicide is a much more introverted thing. A proper suicide is one where nobody would have suspected it, because you didn't go around looking for sympathy beforehand.
It's a decision you make for yourself, don't let what other people say affect what you do, but DO NOT make what you do affect other people. |

yes. 20 is sucking right now too, but I'm guessing it's due to some "external factors".
bidor dude, shut the up and lighten up, altho I don't really know what you're going through, "problems at work, holidays and with parents" aren't anywhere near bad enough to consider suicide. it's just a temporarily bad period of your life that should go away after a while or you'll eventually overcome it. it's not like you're in deep physical pain or anything (i think!) so stop whatever "emotional", whiney track you're playing now, and play really ing loud some fun yet horribly cheesy cd. |

Seriously, 20 doesn't suck really save for external factors. By now all the little hormones have stopped doin' it bukkake style inside and we've mellowed out. |

| seriously people stop sympathising or pitying this guy.... all that accomplishes is letting him wollow in his sorrow. That's what he wants and will continue to do so as long as you let him. The correct thing to do is just tell him to either buck up and deal with it or go ahead and end it all. Feeling bad for him just allows the status quo..... like a bum.... if people keep giving bums pocket change they make enough of a living to scrape by in their deplorable conditions and lifestyle.... this does not help them. Rather then giving them change we should be giving them the finger. Once they start to starve they'll either get their together and make something better for themselves or they'll die..... both are preferable to what they have if we keep giving them change. The only difference with this pathetic soul is that he's looking for pity rather then pennies. |

| It's funny what you learn between 18 and 22. Hell, you'll learn even more from 22 to 26. Hang in there. I think anyone who has undergone extreme personal distress has considered suicide, even if it was just a fleeting thought. I don't think my mind really started to calm down/solidify into what I would consider a calm, rational, and mostly happy human being until my mid 20s. Give it time - the hell that is your late teens/early twenties will pass. |
