Why do all clubs in Boston close at 2am?

I just read several threads mentioning AvB's upcoming performance in Boston. It appears, though, that all clubs and bars in Boston must close by 2am. (Which means people start leaving around 1-1:30)

What's up with that???

and with all those colleges and students, too? :conf:

First off its not all clubs...it's all clubs that serve alcohol. Rise is open till 630-7 sometimes much later and they have great dj lineups. The 2am liquor curfew has been around forever and I think philadelphia has the same issue. They will never change the law unforutnately. :whip: :whip:

To add to what GU said.. no-one leaves at 1-1:30.. people leave at 2 on the dot usually... Because we milk every minute we get :) But that is just how it is and we gotta live with it.. Rise is one of the exceptions and its a damn good one :)

there's your answer. Approx. half of boston's entire population attend university. so they don't more potential for accidents happening to and because of drunk kids.

instead they close the clubs/bars at 2 and let the kids roam the street and riot...even better..

not for nothing but what the hell is all this rioting thing? like don't they got anything better to do like some frat party with kegs or something iono i think its just stupid to see them flipping cars, then again alot of kids in boston are pretty well off...so who cares mom will buy'em a new one right....

i'm out of the loop and back into the school bubble-- so what happened with rioting in boston?/ :conf: usually when clubs close (in my experience) they are cops making sure the kids aren't loitering around doing stupid on the streets..

Way to generalize and bring up something that happened in 2004. You look for any reason to put down Boston. I don't get why. Stupid immature college kids will do stupid things regardless of what city it's in.

you speak like this is an everyday occurrence, i went to school at BU and lived at Kenmore which is right where avalon, axis etc is.

also i agree with the other poster, no ones leaves before 2 and its usually pretty packed by 1030-11, well it was when i went there, so you still get 3ish hours which isnt too bad cuz the sets are really intense since theyre so short. go, youll have a blast.

edit: run-on sentence anyone?? ;)

That's the number 1 reason why there will never be a change in the laws
