Hahaha that was really funny! I'm glad I met you though! Go figure I ask a random stranger if it's someone I know and then it turns out it's another TA! :)

I finally found Richelle and she said that people had been coming up to her asking the same thing!!

Good.
Abercrombie
Alright I just got back from spending the weekend at my parents' farm near Guelph, and it took me over half an hour going through so many pages of posts!

I got there early about 10ish, warming up to Mark Oliver. MO knows how to get the crowd started. He should be headlining in one of the rooms, instead of fluff girl on these big nights.

I got to meet a lot of TAs right there at the KH entrance, the RabbitJoker lookalike, Shanny, Laura (you give the best hugz!), Cono_sur, ChemEnhanced, and more first-intros, like Chinamon (whom I've nown from the old LuvTheGuv message board from years ago, jabbin it up with Shaya. And Cuzo, whom I've seen at the Guv for years, and finally had a decent intro. I was bouncing from group to group, as I had some work buddies coming in, as well as other non-TA Guv regulars. Met Sean Cassidy on the patio for a surprise intro while chatting it up with common friends.

For those who PM'd me how did I get the tape....
Back at the KH, running into Sasha and more, and he told me of the story of the confiscated caution tape. I told him let's see what I could do, though he had doubts. First visit to the security checkpoint, the brown box where tape was dumped was gone. We later found out it was dumped securely as they also dumped all the drugs and no-nos. Though I didn't speak to Charles himself, my friend Paul did, and then to the head of security that got the security peons to release it. I guess the explanation that THERE WERE 130+ TOTAs WHO WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE TAPE, and what we'd use it for, was good enough. TOTA power!

Around that moment I got to meet and say to Cribby, Cale, Lisa, Ivan, Andrea, Kelly (I'M SO SORRY KELLY, WILL YOU EVER PLEASE FORGIVE ME???), Ivan, Lopi (wowsers, did you lose your wings when you fell from heaven?) MKPasha, TigerLily, Shanny, Angelina (nicer in person!) and SMunky. Sorry if I forgot anyone, so many new names!

A friend of mine (my ex gf actually) lost her group of friends, and been searching for them for an hour, so I helped, and became the one who kept her company most of the night, until we finally found her group, and by that time, never made it back to the KH for the action, as I got sick of squeezing through the sardine can. Folks, always bring your cellphone so you can text in case you get lost. I h8 those nights where we're totally packed and can't move around or dance properly.

So, for me, it was a so-so night, and wish I could have stayed in one area the whole night. I know I missed a lot, but I've seen most of the acts before so I only have my good memories to feel what was it like, but I'll see em all next time!

Alright, my first time at the guvernment/koolhaus. completely ridiculous

amazing night of clubbing in general

got on VIP list, had some problems but ironed them out, got in about an hour before j gabriel got on, maybe 11:00 or 11:15. my friend gave me a big tour of the guv and all the rooms and bars. Great space. as an architecture student I was thoroughly enjoying it.

I had seen oakenfold a few times live before thursday and had come to the conclusion that he was starting to decay in his old age, but after that set I have definitely changed my mind.

Killer set in my opinion. Usually oakie has been a bitch live, but he was really friendly and good natured lots of crowd interaction

best interaction:

-me and my friend buy some tasty cold icepops
-my friend to me: dude, we should by oakenfold an icepop
-my friend holds his icepop up to oakenfold, oakenfold points to himself, surprised? shrugs and laughs. we point and give oakie the thumbs up
-we buy oakenfold an icepop
-at a lull in the set my friend climbs up a bit onto the booth and offers oakenfold the icepop
-oakenfold starts cracking up and holds his arms to his chest, saying: "for me??!?" ends up not taking the icepop because he's gotta mix in the next track.

second best interaction:

I had wanted to experience castamara live since I heard it first last february. So I print out this three foot black and white CASTAMARA banner that says DANK U WEL (thank you in dutch) and I kept it rolled up until about the first peak time during armin's set. Then I hold it up and armin points at me, nods and smiles. I give him a thumbs up back. Shortly after armin heads back to his records, and I am getting excited. Next song (i forget right now have to check my videos) I can tell is going to mix really well with Castamara, so I get really exicted. Then 5 minutes after that, I start hearing the castamara beat and then the characteristic synth bloops and bleeps. I promptly unfurl my banner and begin to go insane, playing both hands of the piano roll and trying to hold up a banner at the same time. Great crowd reaction to the track, which is a great way to start a peak in an armin van buuren set.

Then soon after I go up to armin with the banner, he holds it up and the air and everyone cheers, and then he signs it and gives it to me.

I also made a bunch of mix cds of a mix i had played on ETN.fm back in february and handed them out to both oakey and armin. But I think they misunderstood because they ended up signing them. Armin gave it back to me, but Oakey didn't sign it for a while and ended up giving them out to other people. I saw some people with them in their hands. This is ing awesome, because now there are people with my mix cd, signed by Paul Oakenfold. And it's not a bad mix either. hahahaha (if you woke up with a random mix cd signed by oakie, let me know haha. DJ Adam Vana - Studio Sessions I)

other great moments - sneaking into the VIP area behind the koolhaus stage, getting kicked out 30 minutes later after fooling the bouncer with another bracelet.

meeting armin's stage manager
this guy is the dude you guys call "the guy in the white shirt" that's always with armin.

basically, my friend comes up to me in the middle of armin's set with this dude who looks like a dutch willy wonka, who i had noticed up on stage earlier. He's like, Hi, I'm armin's stage manager, are you enjoying the show? I'm like, "yeah, armin has my mix cd, and this are some sweet tracks" he smiles and then starts dancing next to us, and he's tooting the instrumental part of the track between his lips. TOO FUNNY haha. After that he invited us to meet armin afterwards, but when we tried to stick around, the bouncers wouldn't let us wait for the stage manager, and we never were able to.

Armin technically was WAY off, with a lot of level problems and some major mixing problems, near trainwrecks. At one point the stage manager switched tracks for armin because the track was about to run out. Armin had clearly way too much to drink and he kept hitting knobs on the mixer, and also hit his head on a lightsquare haha. But I thoroughly enjoyed how much of a good time he was having.

Oakenfold was pretty ing great. Nice track selection - highlights being persia, hello strings, star traveller, greece 2000 (dj shog mix).

Loved hearing white sand played by armin live, also so serene (mdj fierce dub).

Josh gabriel played a sick track early on that was more big beat or electro house , with this obnoxious, syncopated, rising in pitch synth line that was also played by Sander earlier in sander's set. Anyone have an ID on this track?

Sander was ridiculous, loved when the cryo jets first started streaming. I didn't know what the noise was but it was ing loud and I thought the speakers had problems at first.

i have like 50 videos of the night. Including the icepop incident and armin holding up the castamara sign. Good times.

Also I know i met and certainly saw some of you guys there. I was a tall, dark haired guy with a puma italia jersey. Probably I was out of my mind with music.

oh yeah did any of you guys see the richie hawtin lookalike?
