thank you orbax.
from where i live, the city full of bimmers and audis (and jason knows that).
audi drivers are typically bigger douchebags, tho there are quite a few people that think their base model bmws are in awesome.
overall the bmws i have driven are focused on driving, where as many of the audis new and old i have driven have either aged terribly or been questionable as . my dads 1989 civic si is/was more fun to drive.
i have not used a new s model audi so i wont pass complete judgement.
yet when you could have an evo/wrx sti/legacy spec-b...why the . save the money and thrash the ******, or upgrade it|
oh and as the z3/mcoupe, check out the real porsche rip off:

cut the trunk-lip off and tell me thats not a 911 rear end without the engine...
oh, and 125k 'worth every penny' for an s8...perhaps for a fast limo. you could do better only if you didnt have several cars already. |

The only problem with this car is that if it is too good it will mess up the sales of the the Gellardo, why buy that if you have the same performance for half the price. BMW have a similar problem with the new M3, if its too fast it will mess up the market for the M6. |
It is true that the R8 is sharing a very small number of parts from the TT. Its so small in number that you would not even realize it. Note, these two are on different platforms!
As for sales, I did agree with you before but after looking at what Lambo has planned, I see where audi is going with the R8. At first the R8 is gonna use the RS4 V8. There is a possibility that a "RS" version of the R8 could use a derivative of the V10 from the gallardo, and if so this should not pose as a problem because the Gallardo is getting a nice power increase for the next model year. Plus Lamborghini has the pedigree of a supercar behind its back and this is Audi's first, yet excellent attempt. |

And as for those girls, at least their parents have taste :D But seriously, if you get a 40k car for your 16th birthday you are not really going to appreciate it, so you will drive it a bit obnoxiously. But when i finaly buy mine with my hard earned money that car will get the best care it can get. |
Definitely not a fan of the new BMW's under the design of Bangle, but on a performance standpoint, I totally agree that the Z4M roadster is certainly capable of rocking the socks off the boxter and SLK 55 AMG. But the Price!!!!!! Jesus Christ. |

The thing with the gellardo is that it was too god and it effected the sales of the murcielago, so they had to make that one a lot better (LP640  ). If they make the gellardo much etter so that they distance it from the audi they are stuck again with the problem that its just as good as the murcielago. Doesnt make much sense to me, but then again im not the head of Audi :D
And i want talking about the R8 and the TT being built on the same platfor i was talking about how they look, and the new TT looks dangerously similar to the R8. Now if i just spent a load of money on a car i want it to look the price and if someday someone pulls to me on a red luight with a car 1/5 the price but that looks essentials the same i would be preety pissed :) Im just saying hope they dont look to similar. |

yeah, but you dont need to push a button in the bimmers. they perform.
the r's are quality cars, yet when you look for performance, it has been decades since audi has offered that without issues or a pricetag| |

well never said they dont perform... thats one thing they are known for... i like BMW's
the nice thing about that S button is you can have a daily driver with 420 hp and drive it as any other 4 door sedan. then when your on the back road and want to rip the outa the road just hit the button... your seat hugs around you like a race car and... well your ready. i think its nice esp if your goin to drive it day in and day out. |

Good point, i understand you now. I really don't think Audi is too concerned with the R8 as per how sales would be affecting Labo's murc and the gallardo.
From a couple of recent road and track interviews, It seems that Lambo (under the guidance of audi) wants to retake the pole position on certain supercars that have been released in the past 2 years. Specifcally, the pagani zonda (+ variations) Ferrari 420Modena, the new 911 Turbo (INSANE), and even the Enzo. Note: there are STRONG rumors floating around that indicate Lambo is building a 1000 HP monster (In the fashion of the lambo Muria) using a NA V12.................. That sounds uber scary.
As per the TT and R8, I understand that they look kinda similar but not enough to be unable to differentiate the class of cars they represent. Good point tho! |

First, the button is not just a marketing / cosmetic idea that implies available performance. This button alters the gas mapping control settings giving the engine even sharper and more direct response. Now this is a track implied feature for the RS4 as you dont want to have a violent surge when accelerating from a standstill in traffic. This is the same reason for the M button in the M5, obviously not along the lines of the gas mapping calibration but rather the availability of 100 extra horsepower on tap.
As for, "it has been decades since audi has offered that without issues or a pricetag" I agree in some respect but audi has been doing a great deal in bringing performance, pricetag and reliability up since. |

the bmw ///m cars have automatic adjusting bolsters.
when you go around a corner, the side will stiffen up and close in to keep you in the middle of the seat and not just hug you tighter.
the new m5 and m6 have the M button that changes the suspension, transmission, fuel curve and amount of spark like the audi's but also changes the HUD to give you a rev limiter.
and 400bhp stock then press the power button and you got 507bhp for the track.
all i can say is i rather have the new porsche turbo over all of them. |
