i was and still am somewhat of a fan of G & D....they've produced some decent stuff (Arcadia and the Brokeback Mtn theme aint bad) and worked on tracks that ill probably never forget, like Zocalo, Without You Near and Beautiful Things :eyes:
but yeah...tracking treasure down is def one of my least favorite tracks ever produced (i try not to even download livesets that have that track in it :haha: ) and even the remixes cant redeem how terrible the original track is...but they put on a good show last time i saw them and ill probably check em out again once they retire that track forever :stongue: |

| I'll admit, I'm not a fan of the direction their productions/remixes have been going for the last year. They're just plain "different" than the stuff that they hooked many of us here with 3 and 4 years ago. I've heard a few of the singles off their new album, so I'll reserve judgement until I hear the whole thing. |

| In the days of everybody bitching about VST trance and un original sounding stuff....these guys are way above that and nobody gives them any props. I too have been critical of them in the past, but have realized that these guys are just artists on another level than most people. It took me awile to "get it", but now I do....and I see the brilliance in what they are doing. Dont hate....because eventually you will "get it" too and learn to appreciate . |

People liked G&D when they were relatively unknown.
But they aren't anymore, so now they are in everyone's hate chamber.
People LOVE to HATE Tracking Treasure Down, but I bet 80% of you are the type that will on it here, then when a big DJ jams it in a club you go nuts to it....hell, all the crowds go nuts to it. I'm not completely fond of the track myself, but you can't ignore the fact that the crowds seem to love it. To me, that makes the track a success. |

Crowds also seem to love 50 Cent, but doesn't make him a good rapper by any means. |

I'm really concerned that my response to this will be taken out of context and used as fodder for a flame war that will no doubt ensue in this thread, BUT, I'm wondering what you mean by "another level," and what in fact did you "get?"
I'm sorry man, but I just fail to see any innovation in their new artist album. The tracks that don't blatantly sound like Josh & Dave are trying to cash in on the "in" sound right now, sound like pop rubbish to me.
Is there something I'm missing here? |
