some people may consider using pictures of the ovens at Auschwitz as a joke to be tasteless, uncultured, and even offensive; whereas others may not. There is no absolute morality, and i don't think Richard Carlton is going to get pissed off if he finds out that there are some nerds on an Internet forum who don't think he should be canonised. |

Sure he had his sensationalist stories especially in the later years when 60 Minutes went down the crapper in terms of journalistic standards. But I do remember a time when he did some fine reporting, esp. his coverage of the Northern Ireland conflict during the mid '90s.
Do I watch 60 Minutes these days? No. Will I really notice him gone? Not really. However with every death there's a reminder of time moving on and nostalgia wearing thin. |

OK LET ME TRY MAKE THIS SOUND CRYSTAL CLEAR,
THAT THING I DID ABOUT THE 'BRING BACK THE OVENS' COMMENT WAS NOT MEANT TO BE TARGETED AT JEWS, ETC. SORRY IF I OFFENDED PEOPLE WITH THE PIC. BUT I THINK MY MESSAGE WAS MISINTERPRETED.
TASTELESS, UNCULTURED, OFFENSIVE TO SOME- YES MAYBE, BUT THATS WHAT THESE MURDERER'S & ABUSERS & RAPISTS ARE!
IF YOU ACTUALLY GOT WHAT I HAD TO SAY, IT WAS THAT YES -IN REFERENCE TO AUSCHWITZ & HOW CRUEL & HARSH IT WAS-IS THAT VERY BAD PEOPLE LIKE MURDERERS, RAPISTS, ABUSERS, ADULTERER'S, PEOPLE WHO CAUSE WAR, ETC SHOULD GET THE IN OVEN TREATMENT, BECAUSE WHAT THEY DO IS CRUEL & HARSH. THEY ARE THE REAL ONES WHO DESERVE IT, NOT INNOCENT VICTIMS!
ALSO THE PIC WAS MEANT TO SIGNIFY HOW HARSH THE TREATMENT WAS, AND THAT PEOPLE WHO DO HARSH THINGS LIKE MURDERING, ABUSING, ETC SHOULD THEY THEMSELVES BE ERADICATED FROM THIS WORLD.

| You didn't offend me at all, in fact if you remember I enjoyed the controversy it created ;) Yet if you had posted that on the Political Debate forum you may have been banned because it's still a very contentious issue because of the large contingent of Jewish posters on that forum. This proves my point in that unless there are members of Richards own family who are active on this forum, it should not be an issue if certain members "disrespect the dead" - because on the lowest level of hell reserved for "journalists" without any integrity like those on Today Tonight, A Current Affair, and 60 minutes - Richard will have bigger things to worry about ;) |
