I rarely wear make-up. Or fuss over my hair. And I never said I was perfect, nor was my statement a comaprison to anything I did. Sorry you took it so personally. I was referring more to the people that just jack themselves up for the sake of "looking good". I'm sorry, but I really don't think a lot of the muscle monkeys I see in clubs are doing it because they're wrestlers or ultimate fighters.

Not sure what "body building" people are doing but I like to stay active and sporty and have seen my body give out when i did not train as hard. I played baseball for 13 yrs of my life, div2 in college until i tore a ligament in my elbow. If I trained then the way I train now, I'm pretty sure I'd be much healthier and have a more prominent career playing baseball. Unfortunately, the torn ligament led me back to living in NYC and becoming as corrupt as the next person on these boards. I promote healthy living by working out and balancing your diet as well as supplements.

I think this work out regime is better than getting high and eating your face off afterall thats what I did in college and ballooned to 195lbs. Now that I'm working out I feel much more healthy and have dropped about 25 off my previous weight. Vanity is the eye of the beholder, imagine yourself at 195....

i agree...the meatheads who practically live in the gym are definitely vain, but your assumption was way too general and quite obnoxious to me.

Actually the point of it was to get some free shwag. And yeah, some attention. The difference between and other people and me is that I never lied about why I did it.

Those protien shakes have a lot of calories-- reminds me of the southpark episode where cartman takes weightgain 2000

also creatine does fill your muscle cells with water but it gives you a "pumped up" feeling also ive noticed i can get a few more reps out of my workout so it really works

No no...you're right...and again, I never said I wasn't guilty of being vain. Perhaps it's my general way of speaking, but I never meant to imply that I'm exempt from the same behaviours.

From personal experience with those kind of people. It's not an assumption at all.

I'd like to get something straight here. I'm not coming down on vanity. I'm coming down on the people that CLEARLY work out for the sake of vanity, but try to pass it off as a health choice, and deny the superficial factor. Gimme a break.

How does a "bodybuilding" diet is different from "healthy" diet"

Do you even know what the "bodybuilding" diet might look like?
For ex: I eat 100% rolled oats, tuna, chicken, lean meats, bunch of fiberous veggies whole wheat bread, pasta etc And take 35gs of protein post workout. Besides that I take my multi vitamin, flax oil and fish oil (efa's) So tell me how it is different from any other "healthy" diet

Honestly since I started lifting my self confidense improved, I look better, I have more strength, my overall health is better, since I started lifting it has helped me to quit smoking (Smoker of 7 years).

I love lifting weights, it relieves stress and relaxes. Nothing like going to the gym after 7.5 hour shift at work + 3 hours of school. I can care less what people think I dont work out to walk around shirtless and show off, its for myself. So your statement about bodybuilding superficial people is plainly retarted.

And what do you mean dont give me that crap its for your health? Is it not also for your health with 100 other benefits?

And about your last comment about excersise and healthy diet is good enough. What else are bodybuilders do? They diet healthy and they work out which is excersise. Doesnt differ from your statement.

Yes there are people who take it too far etc and steroids and but we arent talking about them.

I say you have no right to judge other people and make statements such as these. I mean its your opinion whatever, but if you ask me, lifting weights and eating healthy and trying to achieve something is better then smoking a ing crack pipe and eating jelly beans all day. Enough said.

i was actually just going to touch on some of your points as well.


what is so vain about taking care of your body and being healthy? some people who work out a lot are truly just healthy people and take really good care of themselves...simple as that.
