You'll probably never do that. The tilting AND analog sticks are both for movement...you are either going to do one or the other. I cant imagine a game where you would have to do all that at once.

No worries. Sony will all make it possible for you. :p

Alright then. Picture this. You want to fly in one direction but shoot in another. How do you do this without using both analog sticks, if they intend you to use the 6-axis movement?

No worries! You have the 360 to look forward to now that Microsoft just announced it being sold in Poland within the next year or two. :p

... i think i got it.

you turn the controller the direction you wanna fly...while using your right thumb with the right thumbstick to aim the reticle and use your middle finger on one of the R buttons to shoot.

...Alright so maybe you WILL have to multitask like a mother ******.. :p but i dont think it'll be hard really. its just like playing a ps2 game, only now you can rotate the controller. i cant see that as being hard. :D

I certainly hope Sony tweeks it well enough. If it's too sensitive or undersensitive... we're in for a hell of a ride. And that's not to mention if the software developers will screw up the sensitivty. Jeezus! (However, the same can be said with Nintendo)

Sounds good in theory but I suggest you head on over to your PS2 and try it out with the controller.

I will when i go downstairs. haha but still, if this all ends up being a waste of time or it ends up being too hard for casual gamers to get used to, they can just stop doing it, because the controller is essentially the same.

if the same happens to nintendo, people will HAVE to buy those controller shells, which i think would be worse.

i just hope they both get it right on day 1.

I disagree. What they [Nintendo] did with their controller is essentially eliminate most of the complications surrounding present-day controllers (d-pad/analog for left thumb; and 4 buttons/analog for right thumb). We're used to playing video games with a two-handed controller; but their goal is to attract people that were always too intimidated by present day video game interaction because of the number of buttons, d-pads, shoulder buttons, analog sticks and whatnot. With Nintendo's new controller you only have 2 buttons (A and B) and total controller sensitivity, thus substituting your thumbstick movements for simple wrist gestures.

I've said this numerous times; but what Nintendo is striving for is simplifying the way we interact with video games of any type. A simple, natural wrist gesture will make your character jump; pass the ball or shoot the enemy. I think the main problem is that too many people are used to the conventional two-handed controller, which has been the standard for over 20 years, and can't imagine video games being controlled any other way. Keep in mind though; before the first Nintendo system, playing video games with a d-pad and 2 face buttons was unheard of :)

As for Sony's new controller features; I think it will ultimately be a gimmick for them. The main difference between their controller and Nintendo's is support. At this point in time; every developer making a game for Wii is developing the game with that specific controller configuration in mind; so you can expect EVERY single game at launch, and every game after launch to be made with that type of interaction mind. Sony on the other hand, added the tilt feature after the console was premiered, and after development kits were sent out developers. This in turn will translate into a much lighter emphasis on the feature, and in turn be something that will be overlooked by most because its not something essential to gameplay mechanics. It will be there, especially in big games like Metal Gear Solid. But it won't be as common.

Metal Gear Solid 4 looks AWESOME. I don't understand a s worth of the trailer, but it looks badass, well except for Raiden's feminine cyborg suit. Revolver Ocelot (or rather Liquid Ocelot) has the most wicked look of them all. Gameplay footage should be out today.
