i've been looking around for recipes actually the last couple days...i want to start collecting them so i'll actually be able to cook for myself someday haha...

one of my favorite things in the world that i found a recipe for yesterday is the ginger salad dressing you get at japanese steakhouses (i.e. benihana's etc.) soooooooo good!

1/2 cup minced onion
1/2 cup peanut oil
1/3 cup rice vinegar
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
2 tablespoons minced celery
2 tablespoons ketchup
4 teaspoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1. Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high speed for about 30 seconds or until all
of the ginger is well-pureed.
Makes 1 3/4 cups.

i made up a great salad dressing.

olive oil & red wine vinegar (a little more vinegar than oil) with a glob of grey poupon and some orange marmalade jelly. it's like an orange vinegarette and everyone who has tried it says it's awesome and i should try to sell it. lol

oh man i've been wondering what they put in that salad dressing for so long! i never cook but thanks for posting the recipe... Rob and i were out for Japanese food last week and he got a salad with that dressing and he asked me what it was but i had no idea what they put in it.

i'm kind of freaked out that the recipe calls for ketchup though... :nervous:

Oh man, thanks for posting that up Jason! I was wondering what the deal was!

Oh man, that Rib Eye Steak Teriyaki from that night was probably one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life... absolutely unreal!

here's another one i found that i'm looking forward to using hehehe :p

CHIPOLTE'S MARINADE
-------------------

1 (2 ounce) package dried ancho chiles
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons cumin powder
2 tablespoons fresh oregano, chopped
6 cloves garlic
1/2 red onion, quartered
1/4 cup vegetable oil
4 chicken breasts or small steaks (6 ounces each)

Soak dry chilies overnight in water, until soft. Remove seeds. Add all
ingredients except meat in food processor. Puree until smooth.

Spread mixture over chicken, or other meats and refrigerate at least
one hour, up to 24 hours.

After marinading, heat grill to about 400 degrees F, or if cooking
inside, heat small amount of oil in skillet or grill pan over high
heat. Salt meat to taste (optional), and grill lightly, turning only
once, until done. 4 minutes per side for chicken, 8-10 minutes per
side for 3/4" thick steak.

Recipe will make four burritos.

now i just need to find a recipe for their hot salsa hehehe...i already know how to make the rice and beans and stuff :p

I like just about anything that has the word "Chipotle" in it.
