But this one is retarded.

i disagree with this on the bases that we dont need this law. not because of an overal quantity of laws, but that I believe that this law is not necessary, we are not the only country that smokes. No, our great distiction is that we are obessesed with curtaining it to the point where it basically becomes illegal to be smoked in the public sphere.

Laws serve a purpose, just not this one.

i hate the smell of smoke too. But if i hated it as much as these people seem to claim, i would just choose not to be in places where it exists. NAMELY SMOKING ROOMS.

you must've wanted to kick my ass when i kept smoking in the dj booth at viva that time eh? :p

All laws aremeant to serve a pupose. The difference is when they end up causing more problems than they solve which has been the case with most of the social engineering ones as of late.

hahah really i dont care... its part of the job as far as im concerned. It would be like telling someone at a club not to drink because it offends me.

your livlihood obviously doesnt depend partially on smokers enjoying themselves. Sadly it is your type of attitude that is killing prosperity in this country. Nobody gives a damn.

"i dont like smoking, therefore i dont care if thousands of people lose their jobs. I dont care if those people who are directly affected are against the ban, i dont want it so thats how it should be"

Just dont bitch when they pass a law banning an activity that you enjoy. Or a silly government restriction that ends up costing you money.
Euphorica
it doesnt ...I dont think id be involved in something where my livelyhood depended on smokers having a good time..but thats me.
you edited more in...

I dont see them banning some "silly" activity that I like.. this is smoking, not some "activity".
The only people who will really suffer are the select few who put in smoking rooms , and maybe the tabacco companies(oh noossss).

Overall this is a GOOD thing despite any argument youd like to come up with :p

And thats your choice. So why then should people like you who have made that choice, force that on people like me? Do I not have a right to choose for myself what profession id like to be in? You statement is quite arrogant and is exactly what is wrong with increasingly prevailant thinking in canada.

If you hate smoke that much dont work in a smoking environment or do business in one. But I have made the choice, please dont make it for me.

but what if your livelyhood did depend on it, you would be singing a different tune.

i gotta quit!

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!

but i can't beilve that we can't smoke on bulding property - thi s will be nice to go for a walk at least!

ciao 4 now!

:tongue3

Even if my livelyhood did depend on it (say I put in a smoking room) I would find a way to get through it or pack up shop and move on.

As for freedom of choice... I cant just go drinking while walking down the street. I cant smoke up or do an 8 ball when Id like etc. So smoking was legal for all this time...things are changing.
