It would have gone in anyway? Did you see the goal?? :p
Besides, England was mega solid, they were dribbling circles around Paraguay who was looking waaaaaaaaay tougher than Holland. Besides, England always loses the first game and still progresses super far, this time THEY WON THE FIRST GAME SOLIDLY. Holland who, England woo. |

yeah, it really looked like it was on its way in.
Holland is a solid team. They just need a bit of work defensively and hopefully they will manage to pull that part of it together. And as long as Van der Sar continues to play like he did today, we will be fine :p It was just the first game.
and PS Alex: I can't respond to your childish comments on msn cuz you are showing offline.. lol :p |

Needless to say I'm dissapointed. The Dutch get the first half becuase they had much more ball posession and we just couldnt get it together somehow..Milosevic dissapointed because I think more was expected from him so I think he will prepare well for the second match...more determination and motivation hopefully.
The 2nd half was intense but I really believe we were better overall. We missed crazy chances and there were a couple of good shots at goal with Van Der Saar saving the day. Obviously Robben was the man of the match and his goal was really superb I have to admit and in the 2nd half it was obvious that Holland relied completely on him for an attack...he came close a couple of times but thanks to our solid defence and good goaly we managed to save the net from further goals.
We were very close in getting that equalizer but due to bad luck, missed chances and Robben's attacks we just couldnt.
I'm just glad that it was a very tight game .. it shows Serbia and M are a force to be reckoned with and I believe if we play like this with Ivory Coast we have very good chances for beating them. We need that victory :whip:
All in all, good game Holland, congratulations for the goal, well deserved in the first half but you got a little sloppy and lucky in the second :p

Serbia & Montenegro VS. Argentina - = - [a TIE at the very least]
Ivory Coast VS. The Netherlands - = - [I'd like to see I.C. win this one only because ---------------------------

Mexico pulled through with those 2 quick goals to end the game. That was great. Also Iran's respect for Sanchez's father bringing out the flowers for him at the beginning of the game. It was an emotional game for him as well I am sure. |
