you have GOT to be kidding me. this ref is insane.. i'm rooting for italy but , i'm feeling bad for ghana and the lack of calls.. that last play was nasty with 2 guys tripping him..

The ref didn't give Ghana 2 PENALTIES at least.

+1... the press here is feeling bad because the referee is Brazilian and whoever gets the 2nd place in this group will play against Brazil if Brazil finishes as the first of its group.

the first was penalty, the second was a blatant dive over those two players. i thought it was quite obvious :conf:

by the way, kuffour should have been sent off for that barbaric tackle on iaquinta who wasn't offside unlike the ref called

bad refereeing, good game. in fact all 3 games today were above average. italy is on good form and is a fair winner.

Luca Toni has been good, but Perrotta and De Rossi crap. They miss Zambrotta and Gattuso.

Great game overall.

Italy played very well at the back, Cannavaro and Nesta were amazing back there tonight, But aren't they always?

Ghana played good today aswell, but they never managed to get the shots right and didn't have the dangerous chances. Many players stood up for their country during the second half, even though it became very ugly at the end where Ghana players was kicking Italian players around.

Lippi made some good substitutes, and Perrotta got the chance to play on his usual place. He also had a chance, but missed it. He can be considered the man of the match together with Michael Essien, Those two were running like mad not only in the first half, but also in the second.

Buffon saved everything that he should've, and even though the shooting at goal wasn't as good as you could've wished, he still did a very very good job by keeping it clean.

It's very unlucky that Kuffour made that bad misstake in the end of the game when Iaquinta rounded the goalkeeper and shot 2-0 to Italy. Ghana could've got a goal in the end after all pressure. Noteable is that Essien lost the ball first, and Kuffour made that fatal misstake which cost them the game.

Overall, Kuffour, Essien, Appiah (even though he didn't play at his best level), Gyan, Muntari (Not the tackles), and Amoah all played very good today in Ghana and they could very well win over Czech Republic.

Italy is like always a very strong team, they will be very dangerous after this performance even though they had luck with penalties and the fact that they scored on pretty big misstakes from the Ghana-defence. First one was the marking on Pirlo, and the second one Kuffour's fatal misstake.

But I'm optimistic about Ghana's chances..

Appiah was bad at the 2nd half. He can do better.

You know as much as I was rooting for the U.S. I must admit that a Czech - Brazil or Italy - Brazil matchup in the round of 16 would be pretty sweet. Its probably happening anyway, Nice draw by Fifa, not. How the heck does Brazil - Italy or Czechs - Brazil meet so early outside of group play, either way would be fun games to watch, unlike the garbage from the U.S. today. I'm still pissed at that gutless performance on a big stage.

I fail to see the humour in a person, who did his best and has gone through one of the most important moments of his life, crying upon failure.

If you could teach me what the funny thing is...
