Control Greg. The beating is an attempt to stike fear into the one being hit... so they will not repeat the behaviour the beater is stating as the cause for the beating. It's an attempt to control through fear of physical pain (which is always the last refuge of those who do not have sufficient reason or skill to lead people through non-physical means). |

i dunno though...i think that no man should ever hit a woman, but damn....sometimes women are ing nuts. i mean seriously! like psychotic crazy bitches who are drunk or coked up and screaming and bitching and throwing for no damn reason....accusing the guy of cheating even though she's the messed up whore who cheats and then she starts throwing at her boyfriend...bla bla bla u get my point.
would u enjoy watching a crazy ass bitch like that get knocked the F out then?

well i only said that cuz i have lots of guy friends who have had girlfriends like that and they didn't hit them, but boy did they come close. and they are good guys.

There are far more effective means of control exercised by people in a relationship. Physical control may very well be the simplest and most base of them all, but it isn't necessarily the most torturous. I think I would much rather be in a relationship with someone who threatened me with physical violence than someone who deceived me after 10 years of "trust" and "committment". In most cases, I'd say that emotional torment is the most destructive thing we can do to one another.
I would also agree that people who stay with a physically abusive partner also deserve their fate, but for a slightly different reason. To concur with Moral Hazard's point, people who resort to physical violence are probably weak-minded and have no other resolution because of their situational incompetence; because it is easy. But on the flip-side, the partner receiving the abuse are stupid as well for not only putting themselves in harm's way, but for pairing themselves with someone who lacks the mental capacity to resolve issues without their fists. Stupid people are just meant for one another sometimes, and that's a very reassuring thought. Some people like being in control though and some people like being controlled - in our current society, there is little excuse for physical resolution to conflict, but that is the way some people choose to live and live by. I can't make excuses for abusive people, but physical means aren't always as abhorrent as they're made out to be. It's passion incarnate, just like sex, and some people get into it - they love to feel like they're being destroyed while still trusting in the threat of destruction from their partner -- he hits her, she hits him, she hits her, he hits him, etc... sometimes we need this stiumuls to remind us that we're alive - violence isn't always the last resort of the weak-minded. Sometimes it's a good way to show how much you love them. :gsmile: |
