Best will always be PVD for, Out there and Back... IMO, no one has ever come close to touching the magic on that album....
Not only is he the definitive master of trance bass lines, but his melodies are simple, his samples are clear and precise and his builds are sequenced perfectly in time, not to mention his layers upon layers of mechanicalesque rythmic sample loops that accentuate the passionate string synths... Oh, and notice a complete lack of cheese... ;)
Also, MOST (NOT everyone) of his remix's and edit's he's done over the years are just gold... The man understands trance moreso than any other producer I've heard since the very beginning... There have been countless tracks created that I've loved by most everyone listed in this thread, but consistently, PVD gets it right more times than anyone else and more often than not, he's the one improving everyone eles' stuff... :) |

Ronski Speed

Faitless (unknown mixes on singles)
Sean Tyas
John O'Callaghan
Filo and Peri
Scooter (early work and unknown trance tracks)
Jam & Spoon
Matt Darey
Darude
Westbam

But then, the greatest of all,

I didn't just start listenging to trance yesterday.. I've been following it for close to 6 years now... You quoted my post without even reading it....
"There have been countless tracks created that I've loved by most everyone listed in this thread, but consistently, PVD gets it right more times than anyone else..."
I gave reference to Lieb in that statement, not directly by name, but a general allusion... So, yea... I've listened to Lieb ;), |

| Y'know, I put PVD down in my post, but I don't think anyone has ever managed to agree with me and yet be so totally wrong in their reasoning before. |
