1. Tossup between Oliver Lieb or BT
2. L-Vee
As much as I like Charlie May, I don't think his works especially when taken in context with when it was released, would be considered trance. He's more progressive house
That is for plain old trance.
For goa trance I would say MWNN.
And would people get their genres straight. Sasha was never a trance DJ. Xpander was progressive house when it came out. Only in retrospect is it now considered trance.
BTW I must say I LOVE TRACE!!! |

Yeah. Sasha was progressive house DJ in 90s. In mid & late 90s progressive house sounded like progressive trance nowadays.
And the best trance producer: Oliver Lieb |

cappella - turn it up and down (trance vocal mix) 1996
the raf mix is also trancey if im not mistaken
gianfranco bortolotti also produced sosa for trance (sosa the wave)
49ers came out with some euro dance/ trancey tracks as well
mainly this guy should be known for his italo disco and eurodance though.. probably one of the best overall producers.. if we look up until 1996 but for trance, it wasnt his forte. |

There's so many great producers out there, even though some of them hasn't showed their true quality for a very long time.
One of my all time favourite producers is Mirco de Govia, and I've truly followed him ever since I started listening to EDM. Everything from the 3 Voices alias to Clubspring/Midspring to Asarja and Vital Spark has been great even though I like some tracks a lot more than others. The Chronoscale-album is perhaps my favourite album with beautiful tracks like Aura Indigo, Voller Sterne, Things That Matter and so on..
I also want to add Andreas Schmidt, or more known as Ace Da Brain. He always comes up with good tracks, He's a very underrated producer, just like MdG.
But there's a bunch of other great producers who can count themselves into this list. |
