I agree with the tree cutting permit. You trivialize it for your personal agenda. I wouldn't trust you in a million years to cut down some 40 foot tree next to my house. So yes, PLEASE force people to have permits before they go DESTROYING property (and saying 'oops sorry') because they don't know what they're doing. |
But gosh, how have we lasted hundreds of years without tree cutting permits? Surely we must be grateful that we made it to 2006 alive without such government supervision! |

lol.. this thread is hilarious. The building of a driveway in front of a living space has been in the building code since the beginning of time. now if they expand there driveway away from there house into adjacent side property then there is no problems and the odds of 75% of your lawn being next to your house and not in front is quite slim. it's freaking markham.. Castles everywhere...

Actually, this is a good point. But in principle it is kind of going too far. If you own the properly, continually pay property tax, you should be able to do whatever you want with it.
OT, your avatar really speaks to me. |

while i agree im guessing its in case of a fire during the night? or maybe because of the garbage pick up.. |
If that were the case, then why would they allow parking on the street during the day? Do emergencies only happen at night? Why do people downtown get to park on streets, garage and/or driveway or not? The roads in those subdivisions are wide enough. Actually worried about emergencies? Then allow parking on 1 side of the road.
There is NO reason why cars cant park on the street at night. The stupid thing is, in Thornhill, you could park til 2am. So, a law is in effect for a whole whopping 4-6 hrs of the night, when no one will be bothered with the site of cars on street anyways?

How is that a bad point?
Explain to me how we have lived so long without so many government regulations? Did everyone suddenly take a stupid pill?
I think the answer is that everyone suddenly got selfish and politicians are reacting. ie) i dont like that so im going to get them to make a law about it |
