Why not? If they dont like what the next door neighbour is up to then they should move to where next door neighbours are not within field of vision from your house. ie) the countryside.
Im sick of all these laws that are in place because "it might offend someone's sense of good taste".
TOO FREAKING BAD!!! |
what I'm saying is that I don't know if ALL trees are owned by the property owner (as two of the four on my parents' property belonged to the crown).
As for "offending someone's good taste"...no...property value impact has nothing to do with MY good taste...if people won't buy my home because it's next to your dump that doesn't come close to conforming to the neighbourhood, that's a problem that's beyond any other person's sense of "good taste". That's causing a tangible harm to the surrounding properties. |

It already is. You have to mow your lawn every so often. The length the grass is allowed to grow varies based upon the municipality. |

Then my friend, due to the lack of for a better solution, all I have to say is : TOO ING BAD. Someone is going to dictate what colour i should paint my house? there is something wrong with our society . I don't freaking telling you what colour underwear to wear. |

Sorry to turn this around I really don't have time to debate. But I think the TOO ING BAD comment everyone is throwing out there is actually towards those who disagree with the new law.
Too many people walking down that slipperly slope of exaggeration. There are LOTS of laws that suck ass. BUT guess what? They are law so TOO ING BAD! |

It differs from province to province, but homeowners are much more protected from that than in many U.S. states.
and yeah, as mentioned, bad upkeep is already subject to bylaws.
you don't cut your grass, you leave trash on your lawn, let your house degrade, etc...you will be ordered to remove/maintain it.
it's kind of funny that some people think these new bylaws are coming from right out of nowhere as if we currently have unlimited control over our property ;)
the new laws may still be "bad", of course...but *some* laws are reasonable. |

| But if we just let them pass whatever laws they want under the premise that "it's not like these laws are anything new", then one day we might find outselves waking up without any freedoms at all, and it'll be too late to do anything about it. How much is too much? |

Exactly....
TOO ING BAD is exactly what i say.
They guy up the street from me painted his garage light blue. It looks like . I dont like it. But should they make a law about it? NOPE
If i dont want the risk of others with bad taste living close to me, its up to ME to make sure that i dont live close to them. |
