if that was true then ALL of above & beyond wouldnt wear ear plugs. true the plugs (the foam ones electrophile mentioned)do make it so you cant hear but good ones (they cost around $80) you can hear everything better. less distortion. |

I get the ones from UPS where there's a string attached to each plug so I can take em out and rest 'em around my neck =).. they work great!
Ask your UPS guy if he has any to spare! |

I can handle Avalon/Circus no problem!
And me flirt? NEVER! I just like to meet new TA's. You know, after having so many asian friends, everyone all starts looking the same hehe =P |

I get mine from www.earplugstore.com, the ER20's reduce volume about 20db across the whole audio spectrum. Personally, I wear the foam Hearos SuperSoft 30db ones (most other brands pop out of my ears since I have small canals). I have a pair of Musician's Earplug (15-25db reduction) custom plugs that hurt my ears like hell after 2 different fittings, and also a pair of standard custom-fit plugs (30db reduction) that I don't like either. Spent $200 on this and the cheap foam ones work better.
An audiologist once recommended that plugs with at least 30db reduction should be worn, because nightclubs can exceed 150db (there are no regulations regarding sound limits). Spundae is the only club I know of that has meters leveling the sound at 120db. Lookup any stats on hearing loss and it will show that sustained sound above 85-95 or so will produce hearing loss in most people.
I have a friend who claims that he never needs earplugs and it never bothers him, so everyone is different. If you have ringing in the ears after leaving a club though, that is damaging and I would highly recommend using whatever is needed to make it go away the next time out. After all, we only get one pair of ears. :) |

Vanguard is BIG! It's bigger than Avalon, but smaller than Spundae. Lines were not a problem last time for PVD. Security is all over the place. Drinks were not as expensive as Avalon or Spundae. |
yah but Funktion1 is best suitable for trance music.....
BT and the likes of PVD spin @ Vanguard....
why do u think youll never catch PVD @ Avalon....its a different sound setup....not necessarily one being superior 2 the other the Funktion1 setup is sick @ Vanguard but the Avalon soundsytem is untouchable....its so in sick i feel like sumtimes i can touch the sound....yahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
essentially i thin it all breaks down to the tuning and what the dj feels his or her music will sound the best on.....its plain and simple PVD will not spin @ Avalon simply because he will not get the distortion that he needs and requires to bang-out....now i thin it would sound just fine, but when your PvD you dont giva .... |
