| I hate the sterotypes that people have that if you listen to trance, you do E or any other type of drug. I for one DO NOT do E nor have I ever tried. I don't need that crap to make my experience with music better...trance is all I need. So I guess I just wanted to make this thread to know who else out there feels the way I do and who party drug free. |

i sense some sarcasm...I didnt' start this thread cuz I was on a self righteous trip. I started it because there is a stupid and unnecessary correlation between trance and drugs. here in NYC mayors are cracking down on clubs and raves because of the drugs. And where does that leave the rest??! Makes me mad. |

Ignore the sarcasm... Seems a lot of it is going around lately:rolleyes: ... But whatever not a big deal...
Question? Do you drink when you party?
I too do not pop pills when i go to a party. I have tried it once or twice. It does suck that our scene is associaited with drugs. I too feel that they do not correlate. However, I definetly like to be a little messed. Having a few drinks allows me to loosen up a bit, get into the flow. I find lately (as i've mostly been sober) its been hard to let loose. However, some of the best times are when you just get high on the tunes. |

I wouldn't say there's a stupid and unnecessary correlation between trance and drugs. It's hardly a secret that a pretty high number of people take drugs at trance/dance music events.
If your government chose to use this as an excuse to dicate to you what music you can listen to and how you party then maybe your efforts would be better spent campaigning for a more liberal attitude.
There's no right or wrong way to party. It all boils down the same as the recent cyberkids thread; instead of worrying about what other people do concentrate on making the experience better for yourself, however you want to do it. |

| ALTHOUGH I agree with SPAD on mainly concentrateing on one's self level of enjoymentand the various means of reaching a high, I prefer a natural one. When I go see a set, i want to remember every second of it, and the highs I get when a really good choon comes on don't comare to any x, weed, speed, or alk. |

Bravo! I salute Spad for his excellent statement.
I have never used drugs myself. But it is a fact that the Trance/Club culture and some soft drugs DO go together. You know this as well as the next trancEaddict. We're not talking about cocaine or heroine here, drugs that can kill you. Oftentimes, soft drugs enhance your dance experience just like alcohol helps you loosen up, and they're not harmful.
I have a question for you: If they sold Xtasy openly at your club, would you buy it? Now let me rephrase the question: if they did away with that dirty, obscene title, and called it a "mood enhancer," would you NOW buy it?
Strangely, "mood enhancers" are not illegal here where I live, but as soon as there's a hint of the word "ecstasy" at a party, that's when the cops storm in... Like S.H.O.K.K. proclaims in his tune, "Isn't It All a Little Strange?" |
