well its close to 5 i just got home...lef after an hour of markus' set...i must say that armin played probably one of the best if not the best sets i have ever heard in my life..he started off a lil chill but then just blew the roof open non-stop until he left...armin had me with kyau vs. albert-walk down(euphonic remix)...sick song..only other song i feel like iding is above and beyond-air for life...tom i will id some more tracks
markus for the one hour i saw after AvB left kept up the energy somehow...its hard to keep it up with what armin was playing...i saw very little of acosta but it was good..not the best but good
seasunz had a pretty good intro to armin...love the track he played
fonzerelli-moonlight party
tom i will post the pics and videos
good seeing all that TA's |

Sorry. I do it my own way. n00b.
Just because it says tranzcowboy doesn't mean this is his review thread. It's MINE.
:wtf:
kthxBBQ.
In my honest opinion I feel a LOT of Markus fans will be very satisfied with how Space set the time slots, but we'll get to that in a minute.
My preparty composed of Vicky, Alicia and a whack on the snowboard. Then it was off to Space. There was a minor line outside, and apparently they were doing the willcall IN the line. No tent this time around. Kinda unorthodox, IMO. When I got inside, it was freezing. Me liked that.
Opening DJ was Seasunz. He banged out tons of great tunes, minus one tune and minus one NASTY mix which Relik and I heard and cringed at. Tracks included:
Whiteroom featuring Amy Cooper - Someday
Aalto - 5 (Maori mix)
Filo & Peri - Closer Now (Whiteroom remix)
Great, great opening set. The moment Armin came up to the booth, I groaned, "Ah . We're in trouble now."
We were in a kettle for quite some time.
Armin, #3 DJ in the world, tortured us for about an hour and a half, according to Neil (Mattivi,) but then something happened.
Rank ing 1. My current #1 DJ in the world. And a collaboration track came on the Space loud system which made me and Spacemasters VERY Happy.
Rank 1 vs. Alex M.O.R.P.H. - Life Less Ordinary
^This song was the prodigal and defining turning point. THANK YOU Rank 1!
At long last, Armin picked up the pace and started SLAMMING down NOTHING but good songs, one after the other, including a few IDs. The last track was kinda BLEH, but by then he had done such a great job making that comeback it was all good. Tunes included:
Ferry Corsten - Beautiful <- CAN'T BELIEVE he played this!!! Recorded video of it for my Selma. ;)
Control Freak
Kyau vs. Albert - Walk Down
re:locate - Rogue <- Many thanks to Spacemasters for IDing this one.
Above and Beyond vs. Andy Moor - Air for Life!!!!
Thomas Bronzwaer - Shadow World
Sander van Doorn - Direct Dizko <- Again, thanks to Spacemasters for Iding this one.
And then....the moment of the night. Markus Schulz. Famed South Florida DJ/Producer, host of the Global DJ Broadcast, and a man who kicked my ING ASS for a solid three hours tonight with a MONUMENTAL set which just made the Space main room come alive. He was booked from 3 - 8. EXCELLENT move on Space...Finally, Armin was opening for Markus, and boy was it ever just...pure...OWNAGE. As always, his crowd interaction, his mixing...everything about the Schulz was on point. He DESTROYED the main room once again. Every single TA I walked up to was going out of their mind to Markus' set. Holy . Tracks included:
Helsinki Scorchin'
Without You Near
Karen Overton - Your Loving Arms <- whichever mix this was defintely rocked. Less vocals FTW.
Way Out West - Killa (Orkidea remix) <- OMG YES, once again, Markus belts out this NASTY, slamming tune. Me loved it.
Naline and Kane - Open Your Eyes <- Can't remember what mix.
Kyau vs. Albert - Are You Fine
Thomas Bronzwaer - Circa <- Lis (FallingMoon) went berserk when this came on.
Marco V - False Light (Markus Schulz remix) <- absolutely NASTY.
Naranja
Tiësto - Traffic <- No ing CLUE who remixed this but again it was nasty. I'd put my money that it was Markus' remix.
And finally, FLTA's very own Gerry Cueto. He got pushed to much later in the night, and instead of the Space Terrace, he, Edgar, George Acosta and Seasunz were moved to the loft, but it was still perfect. They all took turns behind the decks and it was just plain magnificent. The ONLY song I could ID was thrown down by Edgar and it was a personal favorite of mine:
Marc van Linden - Forbidden Love (B mix)
Gerry, you did an AWESOME job for your biggest gig to date. I'm ing PROUD of you, bro. Hope to see you rock it out at Space again very, very soon.
TA turnout, as Spacemasters predicted was ing MASSIVE. TAs from ALL over came out. Got to meet Eddy and DJ Indus Creed for the first time, saw Matt (MrMorden) after ages it seems, Phil (Vero), Ginger (GZewad420), saw MaxDady and the usual crew, minus a few familiar faces...
John (miamitrance04) told me he had never seen Markus before. I assured him he'd be satisfied. I'm sure I was right on that one call. Defintely been a long ass time since I seen you, man.
Tonight, just like Armada night during WMC, should show why Markus should headline. When I was leaving at around 6, people were STILL jamming to Markus in the main room. My combat scars for the night include a massive headache and spaghetti legs.
Seriously....I did about 95% of the night sober and I had a GREAT ing time.
Pics coming in a few minutes...but just a few for now.
Until the next one.....!
DarkAngel of TRANCE.
P.S. I am SO not sober now. I love Vicky.
P.S. P.S. Attention Sweetcandy girl
I got the 2 videos you wanted, sweetiepie! <3 |

| DA is right, it was a set of 2 halves. personally i thought the first half sucked balls, very predictable and the energy was mish mash. the second half of the set was really bangn. you know why because he was playing tunes not heard on teh ASOT. from like 1:30 to 2:30 he was really pounding it out with phat instumentals, then he softened up at the end. armins productions "who is watching" was a really great way to end the night. i love that track. markus schulz really brought it hard and nasty for afterhours. i swear that man brings NO CHEeSE!!! upstairs GA and EDGAR V were absoultutely rippping it with some old school trance and H-INRG TUNEAGE. really enjoyed those guys tag teaming. nice seeing all the TAs, esp Lis and her boyfriend, mad cool people, glad to have fun with you guys!!! MELLY U LEFT AT THE WRONG TIME, night really took off when you left!!!! |

Yes indeed, Neil. Upstairs was just plain awesome. All that talent (Edgar, George, Gerry and Seasunz) made for a memorable loft session. No cheese whatsoever. Just plain ol' banging .
I was saddened my Mel's leave as well, but the poor thing has to work this morning. :sadgreen:

its a remix of one of the songs he has on one of his mix compilations from the late 90's. i will research and find out. GA definetly brought the nrg tonite. it was soooooo fun upstairs. to tell you the truth the afterhours was the highlight of the nite. you couldn NOT GO WRONG upstairs or downstairs. Markus Schulz is missed, what a great talent, his sound is so perfect for afterhours. i dont get why he was let go, one of the best ALL AROUND talents out there. bar none. a great nite for EDM all around, something for everybody. |
