Terrible. Worst dj i've ever seen there.
First of all, he could not mix. I don't think he successfully mixed a single track. He let the songs run to the end, and then he'd just put a new one on, making the bass louder or something like that.
Second, he was completely ed on something, like he was clapping to the music at one point and HE WAS CLAPPING OFF BEAT!! I think that if he's required to mix two things that have a beat, that would constitute a problem. The contracts the dj's sign with the clubs should have a clause stipulating that if the dj shows up messed up, or gets messed up during the set, he doesn't get paid. End of story. Whatever happened to professionalism??
Thirdly, track selection was TERRIBLE. He kept playing songs that were just no good, like boring euro stuff, with celine dion type vocals.. ICK!!! Also, he was not building a set, he was all over the place, practically zero flow.
Fourthly, the crowd as the sketchiest I've ever seen, and I've been to quite a few guv events. And even then, it seemed like the energy in the room was ultra low.
I ended up leaving with my friends at around 3ish, or at the moment he played a remix of "let you go".
Overall, I give atb a 0/10. Completely abysmal, and even the two popular tracks he did play didn't get me going. I don't EVER want to see this guy again, and I feel bad for what seemed like a lot of people for whom this seemed to be their first contact with trance music. |

Alright...
Time for a review, I haven't written one in a while so lets hope I do this right.
On a trance night, you can usually expect to hear some good but mainstream trance from Mark Oliver, tonight... there are no words to describe the warmup and the finisher he pulled off. If ATB wouldn't have played, this night would still be in my top 5 this year.
Showed up at 12:30, MO was still doing his warmup set, ATB came on at 1 and had the place blastin' a few mins later. As usual, center stage between the two front speakers in front of the cryo-cannon was a mosh pit, so we didnt stick around there that long. We retreated to the back, where I was dancing on the center pedestal for the REST of the night. Didn't see many TA's .. cuz I dont know any :S. Except for Infinite Eclipse, and a few buddy's of his. Hung out with him for alot of the night, wicked guy !!! All around, stayed in the main room all night, which is rare. I usually find myself hitting the Gallery to see Addy, near the ending point.
Tunes of the night :
MO : Mike Foyle feat. Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk
MO : Super 8 VS Dj Tab - Helsinki's Scorchin
MO : And of course... he plays it everytime but Rank 1 - Airwave
ATB : Above and Beyond - Can't Sleep
ATB : Kyau VS Albert - Kiksu
ATB : Smith and Pledger - White
I must now rest, must be at King Street party at 2pm for the FIFA FINAL. |
I forgot to add, Mark Oliver dropping Marcel Woods - Advanced and Marco V's - Red Blue Purple !
 |

next time don't do so much E and pay attention to the the music .
ATB was terrible, zero mixing skills or buildup for that matter, and he was clearly ed up on something aswell.
and for the record, i would have had a much better time if dj Danny D was up there mixing, since ANYONE would've been better than ATB. |

Wow what a night. This was just awesome. I came from Ottawa for this. Got there at like 11.
Was that Mark Oliver warming things up ? If so that man has some skillz when selecting tracks...sick tune after sick tune.
Umm ATB...I wasn't expecting much but he blew me away...the track selection was just ridiculous...and I am pretty sure it reflected in the crowd...everyone going crazzzy and singing along....nuuuuuuuuuuuts...It kinda sucked that he was only spinning for 2 hours...3-4 hours would of been heaven !
To the guy here saying he sucked...I dunno where you were...I hate when people bash Dj's for their mixing or w/e just enjoy the friggen music I mean thats what ppl are there for...if you want to analyze his mixing sit at home and watch the videos.
Man if anyone thinks trance is dead...shiat should of seen last night.
Anywho...I stayed there till 6 am but I wanted to stay till the end...but my friends were unable to move at point hahaha.
Yes the place was a bit overcrowded...but mainly because there were soooo many 50 year old asians...like wtf...they don't even dance they get messed up on E and hug each other...soo sketch.
Oh well second time for me in T DOT first time at the GUV (awesome venue by the way...I am counting down days till Armin n Ferry)...both time I got owned.
Hey does anyone have ATB's set from last night recorded ? Or any Mark Oliver sets ? |

No buildup ? Man seriously where were you last night ? Clearly you are the only one here who thinks his stuff sucked last night. |
