sweet trance from the DJ booth. Not the hard trance usually heard at Guv, but more of a melodic beat.
I really liked this set.
Jonas Steur - Silent Waves - Loved this song. So nice to hear it at Guv
ATB - Let You Go
Crowd was a little pushy for me, so I left at 3:30 |

You can't expect every single person to be pleased. It's his opinion, so everyone should back off and get over it :rolleyes: Does anything he say change what you thought about last night?...probably not.

ATB was terrible, zero mixing skills or buildup for that matter, and he was clearly ed up on something aswell.
and for the record, i would have had a much better time if dj Danny D was up there mixing, since ANYONE would've been better than ATB. |

This was my first event in a verry loong while...and it was the perfect one at that. We got there around 12ish and headed into the gallery.
btw. The Gallery kicked my ass!!!!!! It was soo amazing seeing everyone...I have missed you guys more then you'll ever know.
-Sean: you are the light of my night seeing you was absolutely amazing and dancing with you was ever better.
-Sasha....i called you twice to leave a voicemail but it rang through:( I miss you sweetie!!
-Tyler you actually rock my world...please we have to chill more often. you me and drew. It is always an honour.
-Brant and Dan: when i spotted you guys my night was fulfuilled.the end.
-Kelly: the shoes actually did end up killing me and we had to leave early...new shoes= a big NO NO. BTW....your outfit=soo groovy excellent.
-ALex + friends: cool chillin with you guys...we need to go to the Pub sometime next year!!! Ryerson Represent!

I didnt know what i was getting into when we stepped into the GUv. It was actually really nice to be in the GUV again and dancing again...i missed it soo much. |

First of all, he could not mix. I don't think he successfully mixed a single track. He let the songs run to the end, and then he'd just put a new one on, making the bass louder or something like that.
Second, he was completely ed on something, like he was clapping to the music at one point and HE WAS CLAPPING OFF BEAT!! I think that if he's required to mix two things that have a beat, that would constitute a problem. The contracts the dj's sign with the clubs should have a clause stipulating that if the dj shows up messed up, or gets messed up during the set, he doesn't get paid. End of story. Thirdly, track selection was TERRIBLE. He kept playing songs that were just no good, like boring euro stuff, with celine dion type vocals.. ICK!!! Also, he was not building a set, he was all over the place, practically zero flow.
Fourthly, the crowd as the sketchiest I've ever seen, and I've been to quite a few guv events. And even then, it seemed like the energy in the room was ultra low.
I ended up leaving with my friends at around 3ish, or at the moment he played a remix of "let you go".
Overall, I give atb a 0/10. Completely abysmal, and even the two popular tracks he did play didn't get me going. I don't EVER want to see this guy again, and I feel bad for what seemed like a lot of people for whom this seemed to be their first contact with trance music. |
this is a pretty stupid review, becuase is you don't like ATB, fair enough, don't go. But ATB delivered last night a set of what he is known for and everyone loved it. If you had done your research b4 hand, you could of gone somewhere else if melodic trance isn't your thing, but ATB delivered what we all wanted!!! And for the record his mixing was fine, and his flow was great. stop looking for dumb problems. the only thing i agree with was the crowd was pushy. |

wat an amazing night.
starting off with a little get together at a friends house to celebrate 4 bdays was really fun. got to guv aroudn 1.30 and i could hear atb rip it up already. the line up was aroudn the corner for this guy. got in and the tunes were amazing. such melodic trance. the only thing i didnt like was that he didnt play 9pm or more of his older stuff that made him who he is now.
i must say though i like being in the guv sober, cuz right now, im probably forgetting half the night and what happened which sucks.
it was great seeing the regular TAs in full effect.
