grimreaper almost never enters these contest, i have tried to make him enter for both of my contest and it just didn't happen. in his own words it's because he doesn't have what is known to be a trainspottermind, basicly, id the track right on the spot. he has to many tracks to remember. this happens to me alot also, |
Spot on! I know loads and loads of "useless" info about all kinds of music but I have always sucked in direct IDing/trainspotting stuff, especially of stuff i don't personally own.. and as i don't collect mp3s nor livesets, i don't have enough time and will to go through my whole record collection to find out the IDs. Having a mind of a perfectionist doesn't help out either because unless i can't ID enough "to meet my standards" (LOL!) i don't want to enter. Maybe some day that will happen again, who knows. |

Yes, I believe he participated some years ago.
Edit: Doesn't Psy-T have all the stats saved up in an excel chart? |
i think it was a txt, but either way, i lost it back when my computer was stolen in january. people who grabbed it should post it if they still have it. |

just replace 'trainspotters mind' with 'a working memory' and it applies to me pretty well :/ |

Heh my memory is rather selective than effectively working.. back in my school days i had a hard time remembering pretty much anything about maths, physics and other more mathematical subjects longer than an hour or two but then i could easily remember every damn detail of a certain record released like 10 years back. :stongue: |

i think the excel file Grim was talking about is one i made a while ago, with stats about the winners and participants of the contests. haven't bothered to update it in a while tho.
if i remember correctly the .txt psy-t made was stats about the tracks used in all contests (how many times have each track been used) |

| paranoiko's was a winners list for the most part as he said; mine included the lists of tracks used, success ratings, point averages, etc, and tony's was a list of tracks used derived from mine and updated to include newer contests as he said. |

updated the excel thing, here it is:
[[ LINK REMOVED ]]
most meaningful stuff since last update (8 or 9 contests ago):
- Sand Leaper is still the only to have won more than 2 contests, actually now has 6 of them!
- Echo of Silence's contest is the one with most participants ever (37)
- 4 people have now 20 or more participations: Floorfiller (23), Sand Leaper and THE_Chris (22) and myself (20)
- Floorfiller is now 2nd in the all-time table
- interestingly he had never been 3rd placed or higher, yet in the last 7 contests was 4 times 3rd placed
- Sand Leaper is the first to get above a total of 1000 points.
- the number of all-time participants is now 204 (if i don't have duplicate nicknames in the list).
so...... yeah, i like stats and . about this particular contest, still wondering if i should enter, i'd get an embarassingly low score. :p |
