My friend got one of those 'VIP' invites in the mail. They were pretty funky. I would have been pissed about not seeing Sean play

I am pissed about not seeing Quinn play! He and Mark James are the reason I'm singing Famous' praises... I am a VIP and I want a funky ticket dammit!

No i didn't just wake up ;)

Before I got there I got many messages, telling me the lines were huge. Like 2000 people long and ten people deep. Alot of my guests and friends turned up saw the lines and left, seriously i didn't blame them.. anyone who was out last night would have known it was F***ING FREEEEEEZING!!! I would much rather they come back when they didn't have to wait 7 hours to get in.

When we walked up the stairs into the club.. my jaw dropped. OMG.

The place seemed MASSIVE. So expansive.. ("Hey? where is the DJ??".. "WAYYYYY down there." *gets out binoculours*)

The venue is like a mini-vodaphone arena. With the tiered platforms that run along the right hand side of the huge dancefloor and the lasers, you could almost be mistaken for being at a little TT or GK.

The sound is clear and thumps like no tomorrow, even though they could have turned it up a bit more... you could tell that it could blow the roof off of the place (and the places next to QB).

The music, to be expected. House.

Mark james was good, driving and solid and when he came on glitter tape got shot from the sides of the DJ booth into the crowd.. lol, nice but almost cheeky touch ;) The DJ before him was ok, got a bit boring towards the end but it was alright.

The crowd. onelove all the way. Young, almost underage, Stevie wearing, typical housey crowd.. But they were up for it, mostly polite, on their feet - always dancing, appreciative of the DJ's and knew their tunes.

Even though I am a promoter for Famous and Future, I'll be honest.. and knowing most people on this forum, it probably isn't really your sort of thing, (I'm sure you knew that already) but I would only really go for Internationals and events that you really want to see. The crowd is a good laugh though, and I really did have a fabulous time!

QB is definately now a "Superclub". I personally feels it lacks "intimacy", meaning it felt like it was more of an "event" rather than a "clubnight" (just my opinion). I know that's what Future had hoped to achieve and they did that sucessfully.. This will definately push Melbourne much more on the to worldwide Superclub circuit. I think this place is better than Home in Sydney, but I will let you guys decide ;)

I'm so so so so so so SO SO SO SO disappointed that trance isn't being played there because this place looks like it was purposely built for BANGING trance, (or slamming prog) hehe. I CANNOT WAIT for the GK afterparty.. you will know what I'm talking about if you manage to visit the place before then.

Anyway, thats it, im at writing reviews on nights.

Princess Superstar next week :) pump that BIATCH up :D

(BTW heard Sunny went off .. hope you all had fun!!)

Sounds good Vi (answer your text messages girly) :) I dont mind a bit of One Love action every now and again :p

Pitty about all the queues. Did they manage to get people in within a reasonable time frame? Will photographers and reviewers have to wait that long?

LIZZY, are you messaging my old number again :conf: I didn't get one message from you all weekend, I thought you got lost at the race track :) did your horse win?? *giddy up* :whip:

This is onelove action x 1000, lots and lots of Hansels ;)

You should have no problem getting in :) there were no lines at 2am, so everyone must of gotten in by then.

You should of heard the crowd singing to "Perfect" .. :stongue:

Oh sorry babe, I wasnt well yesterday

I dont recall seeing an horses as such, just party pies and champagne.

Lets hope those long lines arent too bad on Saturday.

"1,2,3,4 let me hear you scream if you want some more"

drew k
the dub mix was played so only 'if you want some more drewbee' was heard.

Crowd was very young mostly but when your an old fella like me that looks like hes only 21 its sometimes ok :P

In regards to the music, it was exactly what i expected. Bouncy electro and house. Side room was playing a more funked up deep styled house which i liked as Sammy Fraser was mixing it up quite nicely.

The venue setup is n great and the first thing i thought when i got in - 'Sasha & John are going to tear this place a new one' :)

Not sure if MJ and his oompa loompa team of promoters can sustain this night every week given the size but my hat goes off to him as he has offered Melbourne a true superclub experience.

V is correct in saying that it looks like a mini renovated dock or small Rod Laver... but no Bitters served on either level :haha:

Yeah, I had to run off to a place I'd actually get into to!

Thanks heaps for putting us on the G/L... once the hype dies down I might give it a shot, though I thought perhaps the evening would be slightly more prog house than electro nova house, so that's disappointing :( Something just slightly different for the new superclub would have been awesome, educate the kiddies an all that. No more house already!!

Crowd def seemed young, can always tell by the boys and they did look underage! (mind you, I get asked for ID when I went to buy drinks from the bottleshop. Boo!)

Awesome, honest review Vi.
