i know i'm behind the "fad" but i guess thats the whole reason why i picked it up and started reading it...sorta after the hype!
Anyways, like 10 more pages of Da Vinci and I have Angels and Demons right after =P |

I like reading several books
I'm currently reading:
To Kill A Mockingbird
The Dante Club
Digital Fortress by Danny Brown
The Republic by Plato
The books I want now: The final Harry Potter and that's about it.
Oh and I HATE Freak O Nomics I highly recommend burning it.
It wasted my time, thank god it was given to me as a gift, i didn't waste money on it :) |

That's a fairly good book, a bit tedious at times but a pleasant read nonetheless. I'm looking forward to reading 'The Poe shadow', his newest book. |

I just found out they are doing a movie on this, like a big movie with some pretty big names. goddamn, its gonna be crazy. They should make a movie out of a David Sedaris book next. |

i disagree. i mean it's a great concept in theory, and i always get excited when i find out that one of my favorite books is being made into a movie... but 9 times out of 10, they just suck.
especially when you consider authors like Augusten Burroughs, Bret Easton Ellis (with the exception of Rules of Attraction - i thought that movie was brilliant), Chuck Palahniuk, David Sedaris, James Frey, etc... they don't necessarily write stuff that is easily adaptable to the screen. for the most part, the plot and character development is just too deep, too random and non-linear, for a film... and the best parts about their books are the small details that usually have nothing to do with the overall story, the things that make you laugh out loud, the things you don't notice until you go back and read it a second time.
unless the director and cast are amazing, i'm usually just really unimpressed by movies based on books. too many of them get the "Hollywood" treatment and they just lose the feel of the original story.
i'm just a book snob. :( |
