last time there were issues over refilling water bottles didn't management come in here or on tribe saying that it wasn't their policy to prevent people from taking water bottles into the washrooms and it would never happen again...were they lying or do they have no idea what's going on inside their own club?

oh ya, i had a good time:D but sonic, c'mon, get yer together:whip:

sonic's response to someone on tribe who complained about the water refill issue some time ago...

"Hello __________,

Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention...all of us in the office are unaware of any rule stating that people are not allowed to fill up there bottles of water. We will definitely look into this immediately and address the issue...

Kind Regards,

The Sonic Family"

While I can't give you any ACTUAL proof; I do work at a hotel and I know that we are *required* to provide any guest with water upon request. I don't know the actual specifics, and since Sonic isn't a restaurant or a hospitality business I'm not sure what rules would apply to them (it might even have something to do with whether the establishment serves food or not).

Graham, I always respect your reviews. They are the honest truth from ya and just lay it out. That's often so rare these days, when even if it was a ty party but one's favourite DJ was playing, many will still say they had the best time of their life, or just not wanna bash their party bc they don't wanna admit their DJ let them down.

And I know how much you love and respect the club Sonic for being such a great club with impressive management.

I still really need to check out this place already, ! lol

so then why are people complaining? :conf:

You are such a twat. There is a huge difference between a hot fun party and unsafe heat. You weren't there. You don't know what it was like in the club. So why comment on something you didn't experience? Oh, I forgot you're a twat.

I think the law is that water must be provided to patrons who request it, no?

so it would be in the club's interests to allow people to refill water at the taps rather than have the staff waste their time handing out free cups of water instead when they could focus on liquor/drink sales.

a quick search of the Liquor License Act of Ontario doesn't yield any mention of this apparent requirement though.

anyone?

Preventing access to water may be a criminal offense, especially if there was harm done to one of the club's patrons. It was hot enough in Sonic on sunday night that someone could have suffered dehydration, and possibly death. If someone died this way, there would be an investigation and charges could potentially be laid under the Criminal Code. It is possible that the charge might be criminal negligence causing death - basically murder. I believe there is a provision called "failure to provide the necessities of life" (or something like that). Basically it means that there is a fundamental responsibility for all persons to provide reasonable access to life-sustaining measures when another person's well being is endangered. I would think this would include providing water to a patron of a club, when needed.

The courts would look at the particulars of the case to determine if the club's conduct was a marked departure from the standards of what a "reasonable person" would do under the circumstances.

because in EVERY TA review someone always bitches about something stupid.

"its too packed" and "its too hot" being the main ones.

There is ALWAYS something to bitch about; long line-ups, gay guys, cracked out asians, pricing, heat, capacity, no water fill-ups, etc, etc.. and these things could ruin a great dj's performance, which is too bad.

But aside from that, this time the packness was unbearbale and ridiculous, even the patio was ing packed all the time.. I've never seen/expected this from Sonic - especially this party.

And why can't people bitch, this is what a review is made for, no?:conf:

Jayx1, the "problem" (and I use quotes because I don't think it's a problem) is that clubbing in TO is a competitive business, and people's standards are very high. its just a different scene here than all of those other exotic places where you used to party, ok?
