How is it even remotely close? A newspaper, such as the Toronto Star or Metro have a waaaaaay bigger audience than TA does, let alone TOTA. A newspaper publishing an article about a cover-up would need some sort of substantial proof. They wouldn't just pull "facts" out of their ass to support their claims; and if they did, then they'd set themselves up for a perfect lawsuit. Meanwhile, a person that posts something that they only heard about from some guy, who probably heard it from some other guy; isn't exactly convincing evidence in any way. |

i dont have any hidden agendas. Especially no personal ones which i care to promote on TA! (except perhaps my radio show but thats not so hidden either LOL)
Id say im quite explicit in what i have to say about the topics i discuss. |

- NO FILLING UP WATER BOTTLES - This was just completely unacceptable. To me, it doesn't get any more shady than this when it comes to running an afterhours club. It was so ing hot in there, and people were loosing sweat at a rate of 2 bottles of water per hour. Not only is this illegal, but it's also amoral. This is clearly a cash grab technique. With tickets at $40, and selling booze (which raised my eyebrow a bit in the first place), they shouldn't have gouged their customers again with this shadyness. I don't care if it's an "Industry thing" or not. This should not be allowed to happen.

How ironic to hear this coming from you
you bashed me in the roll call thread when i was outraged at the obvious profit scam the club was making with this event
40bucks cover+ selling alcohol+5dollar water bottles and now i found out about the no water refilling rule
it cant get any better |

why is it a scam to charge $40 and have alcohol?
Why do people think that club owners should be in the "fun charity" business?
If thats what they charge its what they charge. If you dont like it, dont go.
Do you go to restaurants and complain that they are charging $2 for a can of pop they paid 50 cents for at the supermarket? Do u complain because the same $20 meal could be made at home for $4?
No.... of course not! |

definitely not a "scam".
I think what Graham (and hopefully Geroin) meant is that it *could* (not) be understandable to see an after hours place trying to prevent people from filling up water...since they only have admission and water/energy drink sales revenue...but given that Saunic also had a liquor license for the event, the 'no filling water' tactics were that much more unacceptable than they are anyway. |

the water situation is def a questionable issue if true.
Thats BS
But charging $40 for cover and $5 drinks isnt unreasonable. |

Sonic had a Special Event License for this night, not a Liqour License. They have to abide by a different set of rules under the license that they got.
I am not saying that what happened was right, or fair. But I really think that we should wait to here from the club owners on this matter before we all jump to conclusions.
As well in regards to the price of tickets. I spent $30 to go to the industry reuion last year at the docks. That was the advance price. Now correct me if I am wrong, but can't the Docks hold more people then Sonic. |
