because israel is a liberal democracy that is accountable for its actions. now, im not silly enough to think thats even close to the truth, but its still there. armed militias are not accountable in the same way properly elected governments are.
israel also does not deny the right for these nations/groups to exist in the same sense that hamas or hezbollah might deny israel's right. to debate 1948 to this day is a ridiculous cause and these groups need to see that.
whilst israel's aggression is unlikely to achieve the destruction of hezbollah, we all know that hezbollah are not going to remove the jewish state either. this tit for tat mentality is ridiculous and whilst i disagree strongly with israel's offensive this time around, hezbollah have got to stop treating israel as a defeatable enemy that one day they'll overcome.
hezbollah are as much to blame for this catastrophe as israel is. they have pulled out of gaza, they were pushed out of lebanon, you cant keep pushing or provoking and expect no retaliation. |

North Korea is definitely a threat as well, but North Korea would have both China and India be all over its ass if North Korea were to attack Japan or other countries.
The US supplies weapons to a number of countries in the middle east, not just Israel. Israel uses its weapons to hunt down those in connection to suicide bombings. Remember, half the time when Israel and the PLO have sat down to have serious negotiations, Hamas has deliberately carried out suidice attacks in Israel to halt the peace process. If Hamas was to renounce its mission statement of violence, and recognize the state of Israel, then slowly but surely you'd see Palestinians gain more self-control.
Israel has repteadly admitted that it's made a lot of mistakes throughout its war on terror. Has Hamas done the same?
As for the Hizbollah, how exactly can they even be branded freedom fighters? They're mercenaries and agents for Syria and Iran. Lebanon is supposed to be a soverign country, and it has been under no "Israeli occupation" over the past 6 years, so why would it need "freedom fighters"? If anything, Lebanon is still somewhat under Syrian occupation, and as you know Syria has enormous infulence on the Hizbollah. So doesnt that actually make Hizbollah freedom haters? |

Having nukes doent make you a terrorist you yank.
And the so called london terrorists plot is working very well to shift attentions from the war in Lebenon and Iraq. |
Okay wait a minute - The "so called" london terrorists? So you don't believe they are terrorists??? Even though Pakistan, a moslim country, has helped identify these men as terrorists?
And you're right having nukes doesn't make you a terrorist. That's why I said I wouldn't be as worried if Turkey, the UAE, or Kuwait had nukes. Iran's situation is different, and I believe Iran would think twice about using nukes if one of the countries that's geographically located close to it had these weapons too.
Aside from Greece, the rest of the EU as well as America might welcome a nuclear Turkey - both Syria and Iran would be forced to avoid declaring war on the West under this scenario.
the UAE and Kuwait have extremely close ties to the West, and to the rest of the Arab world, and are also very stable and economically successful countries. I wouldn't be surprised if western powers decide to arm BOTH countries simultaneously (America supplying Kuwait, the UK supplying the UAE) with strong backing from Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Behind closed doors you might even see Israel welcome such a move... |

You maybe have forgotten it but the victims of Sabra and Shatila from 1982 haven't forgotten the war crimes which Israel commited there.
This conflict is not 4 weeks old. There is a reason for the start of it. And one of the main reason is those thousands of Lebanese men sitting in Israeli prisons. |

I thought that massacare occured due to Christian militias attacking refugee camps.
Lebanon, as you know, was deep into its civial war at the time, which started in 1975.
It's easier to blame Israel then to blame someone else I guess.
I also don't think the people of northern Israel had forgotten all the rockets and missiles that were fired into Israel even before 1982 from the other side (when the PLO was there, after being kicked out of Jordan no less).
I've read that people like Lou Dobbs have criticised the US have for not supplying the Lebanese government a lot of ammunition when compared to Israel. Well, that's b/c the US government is (rightfully so) fearful those weapons would fall into the Hizbollah's hands instead of to the legitimate Lebanese army. |

No that area was strictly controlled by the Isrealis and they knew very well what was going on inside the camps. Ariel Sharon was in charge of that area.
It's proven facts. |
