Believe me when I say it's not a pleasant state to live in but you can't keep living in fear, knowing that they can and will attack you whenever you want. In a year or two I will be drafter for the IDF, I don't want to be that soldier that will be kidnapped by a terror group.

My point was to show you that you can't come and say "Israel break the cease-fire", when the cease-fire itself hasn't "started", and when the Hezbollah still launches rockets.

You also keep on saying "Israel bomb Lebanon, so Hezbollah can shoot back", but as far as I remember, Hezbollah shot first.

And do you think we can go shopping again tomorrow ? or even go to work?

Damn, you always say that the media is pro-Israeli, but everything you write sounds like your watching Al-Manar, and I highly doubt it.

Look. I honestly do have sympathy for the position you find yourself in, I really do. I just don't think that Israel will be successful in eliminating the threat you face by it's current actions. If anything, it's made that threat worse, would you not agree?

So what you're saying is Israel has deliberately done as much damage as it can before the cease fire? Looks like Saturday is too holy to discuss a UN resolution but not too holy to bomb people's homes?

And what's your point about Hizballah firing 200 rockets? There is no cease fire until tomorrow apparently so if Israel can still bomb Lebanon, by the same token, Hizballah can bomb Israel...

Did you expect the cease-fire to take place immediately after the UN resolution? Both governments had to vote on it, which Israel doesn't do on Saturdays, as it's the Sabbath. I do find it ridiculous that war is allowed to progress even though politics isn't, but that's the way their religious culture works. It's of no surprise to me. On most US media outlets, they were announcing on Friday that even with the resolution, this wouldn't be finished before Monday. Almost every time this sort of cease-fire is agreed upon, worldwide, the forces blow their load on the last hurrah. Israel's initial motivation was supposedly to disarm Hezbollah, and I'm sure they'll take every last second to attempt to do so.

Also, his point about Hezbollah firing 200 rockets shows that neither side is letting up until the cease-fire is voted on and acted upon by both nations. What disturbs me most is that Israel is saying that they won't exit Lebanon until the international forces arrive, and Hezbollah announced that they won't cease their actions until Israel leaves. Hopefully, the UN gets their people in there ASAP and hopes that both sides abide by their declarations of when the cease-fire will begin in their eyes.

I agree with you that this, specific, certain, army operation in the last month, was ineffective. we bombed, we caused death to innocent people, and we outraged the whole world.

* boom * boom * boom * HERE COMES THE BIG BUT * boom * boom * boom * :toothless

this, specific, certain, so-called cease-fire agreement, will be ineffective as well. We both know that this agreement will last until Nasrallah gets his call, and as some one already said - back to square one.

I hope when he gets that call, IDF is triangulating his frequency, so that they can send him a laser-guided percision "care package", compliments of his Zionist and Yankee buddies. :p

I know that that's an off the cuff remark, but do you think that would make any difference? Has Israel's targetted killings of Palestinian terrorist leaders reduced the threat posed by them? Has the killing of Zarqawi in Iraq reduced the violence over there?

I hope the cease-fire lasts, but I think if it doesn't, it's just as likely to be either side to break it. But we shall see, here's hoping for the best...

Hezbollah Chief Claims 'Strategic, Historic' Victory

BEIRUT (AP)--Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah said Monday that his guerrillas had achieved a "strategic, historic victory" against Israel.

Nasrallah, speaking on the day a cease-fire took effect - ending 34 days of brutal fighting between Hezbollah and Israel - called Monday "a great day."

"We are today before a strategic, historic victory, without exaggeration," he said in a taped speech on Hezbollah's al-Manar TV.

"We came out victorious in a war in which big Arab armies were defeated (before)," the black-turbaned cleric said.

Moments after his speech ended, celebratory gunfire erupted across the Lebanese capital.

Nasrallah also declared that now wasn't the time to debate the disarmament of his guerrilla fighters, saying the issue should be done in secret sessions of the government to avoid serving Israeli interests.

Nasrallah declared that the massive destruction inflicted upon Israel was an expression of what he called its "failure and impotency."

He promised the militant Shiite organization would help the Lebanese people rebuild.

"The enemy destroyed thousands of houses in the south, the Bekaa and the southern suburbs," Nasrallah said.

"This is immoral, incorrect and inappropriate," he said. "It is wrong timing on the psychological and moral level particularly before the cease-fire," he said in reference to calls from critics for the guerrillas to disarm.

"Who will defend Lebanon in case of a new Israeli offensive?" he asked. "The Lebanese army and international troops are incapable of protecting Lebanon," he said, flanked by Lebanese and Hezbollah flags.

But Nasrallah said he was open to dialogue about Hezbollah's weapons at the appropriate time. And he credited his group's weapons with proving to Israel that "war with Lebanon will not be a picnic. It will be very costly."

Dow Jones Newswires

JM
Hezbollah may be victorious (in some way i'm not aware of) but the State of Lebanon and ALL its people are the losers. Typical of a terrorist group to claim victory, declare war, whatever, without any disregard to the general welfare of the entire state.

And now the state has been pushed back to 3rd world status. I wonder how long it will take to rebuild the roads? the infrastructure?

Israel GOT what they wanted. And paralized their neighbors while at it...

Thank God for the UN, I'm sure Isreal didn't want to be figting this political war forever...
