Review ..... Donald Glaude At THIS IS LONDON. (pg. 3)

I knew I wouldn't be disappointed! It was my 4th time seeing Glaude, and it's safe to say that it probably the best set from him yet. His last appearance at TIL was just a tryout! Ohhhhhhh Yaaaaaaa. Before going to TIL, I was too excited for my own good, which led to me being in a really bad mood. 3 of my close friends cancelled on me...and they knew how much this night meant to me...but blah...whatever. them! Made it to TIL around 11:40 with Kat and had to wait in line until almost 12:30! GRR, that didn't help my mood at all, but thankfully just hearing the tunes put a little smile on my face. Also, a few surprise appearances made up for the ones who weren't there. I was getting a little bit anxious and wanted to dance in line...and I did...the lineup for security checks...lol. As we finally made it inside I met up with Dave and my friend Billy, as he dragged us to the rest of the dirty bunch. REUNION!!!! Well...not exactly...but there were 4 of us! w00t! I was really bothered by a few small things, some of which were already mentioned. It was packed...and most of the crowd was rude. I cannot exclaim that Cribby needs his space! You want to get hit by my flying limbs...too bad for you! The lighting was too much. Way too distracting, especially with patrons carrying their drinks around! The floor was wet and sticky for the most part. Still...I had a blast. Ants in my pants; I couldn't stick to one spot, but I stayed FRC most of the time. We left around 5ish and I was completely satisfied + dead.
Now for the good stuff...Didn't pay much attention to M&S, but whichever of the two was playing since I got there did a great job. He/They definately warmed up the crowd with the type of stuff that would flow well into Glaude's set. At around 1:30ish I noticed a peculiar man behind the deejay booth...Wait a minute...he's coming on...Oh . OH ...It's...THE PEOPLE'S MALBORO!!!!!!! DONALD ING GLAUDE!! I must of howled louder than a wolf at that moment with the biggest grin on my face. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning!! For about 3.5 hours it was a nonstop clown show for me. Like always, everyone was going absolutely nuts! Toronto dancers FTW. I went mental! Nonstop! How can you not go nuts to Glaude?! "PUT YOUR ING HANDS UP!" "MAKE SOME ING NOISE!" He even sang along and made random noises sometimes which I thought was awesome haha...Unfortunately there was no head/chin/hair scratching. I don't think he still does that anymore :(. His set was off the hook's hook. He's a clown on the decks! So much trainwrecking...but ing up is his style haha. No one seemed to care because it suited his set. Sometimes I was impressed though, when he's actually serious about mixing in two tracks...but I don't want to be impressed...I want to be destroyed! His track selection was crazy. Mostly hard house, some electro with a few hip house tunes and one or two acid house tracks. Lots of variety of weird tunes which I loved. It was predictably unpredictable LOL. He played alot of Switch and Solid Groove tracks which I can spot a mile away including...

It was played twice actually...and both times...it was VERY slutty on the dancefloor :clown: Unfortunately, this time he wasn't scared of me. I lost my voice from trying to scream louder than him again lol. So many <3 gestures from and to Glaude. He really loves what he does...and he loves his fans. Me and Dave, the remaining clowns at the time kept screaming out DIRTY ING CLOWN! and DONALD ING GLAUDE! Like Jaks said...I wanted to go up on stage but the loser of a bouncer only wanted women up there...There was a dragqueen up there! Geesz. lol. Glaude stopped just a bit passed 5 am, where I went up with Dave, greeted Glaude, and told him that he was the original Dirty Clown...and that we made a group out of it...lol..he seemed pretty disturbed and probably thought we were ed ahahaha. NICE!
Most ridiculous moment of the night: Me slipping on the wet floor and taking a really bad wipeout...I hurt my ass bone...but I got up and started laughing. lol. w00t
Great seeing everyone who made it out..the meetup was unsuccessful because of the amount of people and the distracting lights. I hope you all understand now why I love Glaude so much...and I'm glad you guys were there to experience the ridiculousness with me.

I don't like to do shout outs anymore...but this HAS to be said...Jaks! I didn't think we'd have this much fun together at a club and both of us being sober. You rock, and I can't wait to party with you again! You did a great job at being a malboro ;) Peter, dude, wow. I'm glad the other Glaude lover on TA got to get down and dirty on the dancefloor with me. We created a few holes...I loved to follow you around unexpectedly and start going nuts so that you would too haha. There will be NO rest when listening to Glaude.
I fulfilled my duty and I'm dead. What a night it was indeed. I can't wait until the next time he's in town (next month!) One last time...I gotta say it...

WoW you coulden't of have explained the night any better my thoughts exacly .... i have to say that music wise i have not have enjoyed a set anymore this year... i'm kinda a snobe and unless i'm really into it i'm not giving 100% in my dancing, you know back it up with the SAFTY dance ...lol....but i gave 'er 110%... this was a night i wanted to make it to no matter what, had a lil scare with transportaion but after everything was resolved i ended up being the very 1st peron in the club how's that for exited to see donald..... the only let down was that donald didn't run out of the booth and boogie to his own tunes as he's knows to do:) overall 1000000+/10
p.s i'm drunk sorry for the typos' and see you all in london |

well heres my review for Glaude at Dragonfly on wednesday...... WOW
what a pleasant surprise to see this guy spinning. was my first time seeing glaude after listening to one of his live sets.....all i can say AMAZED!!!!
he came on at 1:30ish and tore the place inside out till 3:40am.
The crowd was nice, lots of space to dance and get ur moves on. He dropped bombs after bombs, with sick bass lines.

this guy got me dancing non-stop. his spinning style is quite special, a few silence between beats to hear him yell " GET UR MOTHA'IN HANDS UP IN THE AIR" and crank it back up. This guy was bouncing, spinning, dancing, yelling in the DJ booth, what an amazing show to see him spin
I was tempted to go up to TIL and see him again, this guy is to wicked!!
Donald Glaude thanks for rockin my body! Come back soon! U are hands down the best performer ive seen yet!! |

| am i the only who noticed that glaude cant mix for ! trainwreck city all night. i cant believe i paid to see this. sure the tracks were alright but this is why i pay to see a dj....to see him dj. i would have rather somebody just put on a mix cd. |

| total waste of cash. i mean i pay to hear a dj mix well. not go up and train wreck all night and then think by cutting the music and screaming it makes it all better. sorry to all the glaude fans but this guy needs to work on his beat matching. i didnt remember him being so bad the last time i saw him but i think thats because i didn't know much about mixing. anyone else who was there feel the same way? alll i saw was good reviews |
