I wasn't there for Glaude @ TIL but I'm sure he wasn't THAT bad.
For example, last night B&J had a few messy mixes and one almost full on trainwreck, but I couldn't careless because they were kicking ass all night with an awesome track list.

I'd rather hear a dj not beatmatch at all with a sick track list, than hear one that can beatmatch perfectly and play totally tracks.

oh, and please keep Reviews of DG to the Review thread... thats what they're there for.

if it wasnt bad i wouldnt say anything but when me and all my friends are looking at each other thinking what the is wrong with his mixing....then you know it was bad. i wouldnt say anything otherwise
Djsketchbag
definatly wasen't as bad as electro funk made it out to be it wasen't a flawless set but i have even herd Okenfold up it happens over i thought the tunes were great the vibe was great actually that night restored my faith in TIL cuz the last time i was there i no fun at all and this was a total 180 of that night ....

sounds like you could really care less who the dj is or have any appreciation for skill whatsoever...

you are the edm equivalent of a k-fed fan.

isnt beat matching the first you learn when djing? i mean i always thought it was the most important part

LOL

I think the skill of djing (mix djing that is... not turntablism or mashups, etc.) is track selection, the ability to read the crowd and keep them moving all night. I think we've all experienced bad djs and most often its their selection of tracks and not their mixing.

oh and btw... K-FED IS THE ! YA HUUUUURDDDDDDD! :haha:

Don't get me wrong... as I said, mixing is key... but I dont think its more important than the music itself.
Its a matter of preference as to how much value u give each part.
But looking at the reviews, everyone seemed to love DG's set, which i assume is because of his energy and track selection.
Cribby
I actually stated in my review that he trainwrecked alot...but I also said that it suited his set. He's not about perfection...its the imperfections that really shine. If you were expecting great mixing then you didn't pay attention the last time you saw Glaude.
Skipper
DJs (like Glaude...perhaps, I wasn't there) that trainwreck multiple times are either being lazy or are drunk/high.

Beat matching is not difficult.

total waste of cash. i mean i pay to hear a dj mix well. not go up and train wreck all night and then think by cutting the music and screaming it makes it all better. sorry to all the glaude fans but this guy needs to work on his beat matching. i didnt remember him being so bad the last time i saw him but i think thats because i didn't know much about mixing. anyone else who was there feel the same way? alll i saw was good reviews

WOW! big words lil' man........................................

he may just read this forum u know!!! Smarten UP!! Just like you this weekend you could have been "off beat matching" too, DJ's have their day's too, but to dedicate such a thread to his dispolal I am appauled - he's a Legend!! aNd don't forget that!
