The thing is, whether it should be used as a learning tool or not, it will be used to humiliate his family, and to make fun of something that should not be made fun of. |

Yes, I can understand how Irwin would want the camera to keep rolling but theres a difference between that and broadcasting the footage to millions of people whereby it'll be hijacked and circulate the Internet for all eternity.

um, so what? who cares? whats the point of keeping the camera rolling if its NOT going to be shown to millions of people? this guy lived & died by the sword. how many animal attacks have we seen on the net or tv? should irwin be given special treatment due his celebrity status, a status earned via television i might add.
i hardly think his kids being teased at school is even a reason not to release it. emotive rubbish.
i think both your positions are quite juvenile. perhaps you should quit forcing what you happen to find distasteful or unfunny onto the rest of the world's population.
id love to see something as fascinating as this, and i guarantee irwin would feel the same. |

| Offhand I would say showing his death would do far more with respect to accident analysis in preventing the mistakes of others that could possibly save lives other than it would be used as a tool for criticism that would offend his kids. Obviously this is Steve's and the family's decision however, it would appear that they have weighed in on the issue to some extent. I have to agree with pkraistlin to a certain extent that Irwin did indulge in a tv personality that encouraged full disclosure. I think Irwin fully realised this which explains his very open wishes in hte event that he died. I don't think we should dictate standards that we supscribe to when we talk about what is best for him and his family. |

RIP at least he died doing what he loved best.
Here's one
What's the similarity between Steve Irwin & Freddie Mercury? They both got killed by poisonous pr*cks. |

I loved watching his shows. He was so quirky, funny and excessively passion with his work.
He'll be sadly missed. :(
RIP Steve. |
