8) hi akia. really nice track. the vocal is very nice. nice to hear your vocal. it shines through the track nicely. the pace and tone of the vocal and the bpm of the track looks fine to me too and fits nicely. nice mellow floating synths throughout the track.
Akia
Thank you [nxx] it means a lot! :gsmile:

Hey,
I think you need to quantize the voice, it sounds a bit out of synch, now the reverb, let me tell you that to do the mixdown in vocals is the hell, a tip for Phil B, the reverb with vocals, it has way too much reverb, put down all the high cut on the reverb, will allow u to have alot of decay and keep that dreamy air but without all that nasty reflection, also a half delay is important, almost all vocals in EDM are done with this kind of reverb, the vocals need some better compression and to be mixed better, right now the vocals and the song sound like two diferent things when they should be only one.
I would mix better the vocals into the mix, the reverb tips I told u to avoid all matters I pointed u out, better compression, and alot of pacience, I know how it feels to begin to play with vocals and is very exiting but it's one of the most complicated things in music production imo so I sugest you Phil to read all the tutorials u can about compressing tutorials, because compression is very important for vocals.
In overall, this tune is going in the right direction, it only needs some time to mature ;).
Good luck guys :).

kopi: Thank you so mutch for this review! Really helpful! :gsmile:

what kopi said is pretty helpful, what I would do, is chopping the vocals to small phrases and then beatmatch each one of them :)

Ableton is teh for this! :)

one more thing I liked the tune very much :)

Thanks for the advices (everyone) I ll take care of that (next weekend) and i ll change the bassline, cause it really seems to be not that well lol :)
Ciao Phil
Drik
I have to agree with Kopi, who's advice was spot on.
Also, try doing some small pitch work on the vocals, it's pretty impossible to sing exactly right, and since trance is always spot on compared to other genres like rock (where differences is just cool) this part is important to make sure it's 100% perfect.
Check the application celemony melodyne to do those small tweaks in pitch and placement so it all fits great, I do this myself on every singer I work with, so I'm not saying you're bad or anything Akia, this is just something that always needs to be done, regardless of singer.

Lycka till! :)

sounds nice but as mentioned the vocals seem out of place.

didnt really have a problem with the bass would probably have just made it fatter.

also there is no real synth presence. i can hear pads and some some synth sounds but you need a synth that really pulls you in. maybe a plucky sound would work well.

i really like the kick and percs. nice job on them.

good track to listen to also.

keep it up.

Akia
Tack Fredrik! I´m not a singer, not at all! So your advices appreciates! :gsmile:

Thank you dj_kane! We will work on it! :gsmile:

nice percs and clean kick with some power to it. bass is really lacking. add another lower bass playing the same notes as what your bass synth is doing.

vocals - these lack the highs the rest of the track has. they sound like you have a high cut on them. personally i think the mix sounds alright. the vocals have a big mid bass presence to me. tone down the 300-700 hz in the vocals by about 3db.

vocal reverb - too much. i would take away the reverb a lot and rely on your delay. make one of your percs more reverbarated in the same setting as the vocal. so they interlink.

overall mix wise i think the levels sound ok. with a tone down of the 300-750hz region of vocals and a tone down of the reverb a lot the vocals will sound more in place. i would turn up your synths in the mix a bit more as well as some of your percs up a little.

i think the vocals are synched very well imo. no problems there.

good work:)
