He will still get a ton of votes regardless of what he says... however, it is good for others to come in and gain the exposure that a higher rank in the poll brings them. The followup being that fresh new faces come into the touring circuit thereby keeping the existing EDM crowd happy and allowing new fans to latch onto a new talent rather than falling into the tastes of their peers by default. Give it a few years and new fans that may not have known Tiesto when he was #1 will want to hear him any time he comes around - either because of the legacy he has left through his music/memorable parties or to judge the validity of that for themselves. |

totally, every other DJ (Morillo, PVD) are emailing their fans to "PLEASE VOTE FOR ME", and to be honest I find it looks cheap.
This way, Tiesto gets the "good guy" rap, exposure, word of mouth, and in the end people will remember his name when they go to vote.
