Hi Everybody,

I have spent the last two weeks in the U.S.A. I had an epic time with four great shows. I spent a couple of days in Tahoe, went to Austin Texas, a festival in Chicago, the Global festival at the Palms hotel in Vegas where I also had some time off.

Every night I went out with the promoter of the city I was in and most of them where bringing up the DJ Magazine top 100 voting. It's a big thing for most of the promoters and most of them will book DJ's that are high on this list.

That made me think, because if that's the case the voting is important. Especially to breed new talent.
There are so many new great young DJ's out there that I feel it's time to give them a chance. I appreciate all the love and support I get from all over the world but I won this award three times so if I would win it a fourth time, it wouldn't make a difference for my career.
For the new talented DJ's around the world it could make a difference, so I would like to ask all the people who support me to vote for new talent.

Don't vote for me, vote for the new breed!

just voted myself and my personal top 5 is:

1.Eddie Halliwell
2.Sander van Doorn
3.Serge Devant
4.Blake Jarrell
5.Richard Durand

Thanks again to everybody who came to my shows and who bought the new single 'dance4life'!

Love,

Tiësto

Seems to me monsieur tiesto sees himself slipping in the standings and releases this as a way of covering himself.

Okay okay, I think I finally grasped Tiesto's plan (according to TOTAs):

Tiesto knows he's not going to be #1 this year, so he tells his fans not to vote for him, so that people will vote for him because he told them not to, which will make him #1 this year.

Yeah, with brilliant tactics like that, his managers should run for Prime Minister, or President, or whatever prominent position they have over there in Dutch-land.

And Nada, just cuz you've seen Armin 28 times this year alone, doesn't mean he will be number one....on the second though...he will.

28 times eh?? haha..
looks like I've got some major catching up to do!

In the end, Tiesto is Tiesto, and what he has done for this industry, not many can do. His love parade set still keeps me moving!

I always love this statement "what he has done for this industry"

Other then being #1 and showing up where he's told to spin, what has he done?

This being a serious question, since these are the things I know of what Tiesto has done.

Are you INSANE???

(If I wasn't drunk, I'd make a long post highlighting your ignorance. But I am, so maybe in the morning. I know you can't wait.;))

Hence why I asked the question, please enlighten me.

And also please don't think my post was being rude or taking a shot at tiesto.

Actually, what has Tiesto done for this music? Don't tell me he's introduced this music to a new people..... any DJ has done that. Tiesto has done nothing that has changed the music....he may have helped commercialise it....so I guess that be considered a good thing but many DJs had already set the way for it to become commercialised.

But seriously, what has Tiesto done that makes him so great.....I really don't know.
Gypsy
he gave the scene exposure. was 'Silence' not the first EDM song to be picked up by just about every major daytime radio station? one of his songs was what got me interested in the scene, so he's responsible for getting music places more obscure dj's can't. that deserves some credit.
