I was at ETS when the thing happened, so I was like 3-4 streets down. I was shocked when I heard the news:eyes: And with an AK47 ? wtf how did he get this ?
Anyway the shooter is dead and this is the only thing he deserved. I saw a video on TV where we see a lot of the shooter's blood on the ground. I was satisfied enough after seeing this. I know, I'm sick. |

| I don't even want to watch the news (mind you I don't have a TV...) because I really don't want to see any of it. |

I still don't think that was sufficient. He deserved so much worse. |

| Props to the police and ambulance guys, they did a good job and didnt scare the out of everyone, proves that Montreal has the resources to respond to such a disaster which is reassuring, however I still feel for those directly affected. |

ok so there was hundreds of cops everywhere, shotguns on their shoulders, everything was blocked, the mayor gave his conference i was there checking it out.
a recap:
3 minutes after the first 911 call, the cops were on site. During that same 3 minutes, 400 calls were made to the 911 congesting all of their lines and at the same time bringing down the local mobile network.
The whole thing lasted 40 minutes, with several hundered of cops on site.
A girl called the radio saying that she was holding the girl who was dying with another guy, the shooter came to them and the guy holding the girl asked the shooter to let them go because she was going to die. The suspect asked if she was alive, the guy checked and said "yes she is alive". The shooter then finished her off with 3 or 4 gunshot!
:whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip:
It seems he was alone, he did not shoot everyone he saw because he held some hostages who were asked by him to carry his heavy bag.
These same persons said on the radio that he was shot at the knee by a cop, then the suspect commited suicide when he was on the ground.
20 in all were wounded, 3 are being operated as we speak, 5 others are in critical condition. No one should be dying from their wounds thankfully. |

reading about this sent chills down my spine
i could have never thought anything like this could happen in montreal, especially not at this day and age. montreal is probably the safest place i've ever lived at.
thoughts and prayers to victims, and anyone who knows someone who knows someone.
government is of course going to concentrate on immediate prevention like gun control crap, metal detectros, which as mentioned earlier are going to be of no good. society should concentrate more on educatin and raising a tolerant public, people who get along with each other. this was most likely some sort of a hate crime where someone's feelings were hurt and it all just snowballed from there. |
