meh they arent that bad. if you know what your doing auto transmissions are pretty easy to fix, most north american cars share like 4 or 5 different auto transmisisons so finding parts at the wreckers is usually a piece of cake |

Actualy toyotas are not the most reliable cars out there. Let me point you to the 2006 Initial Quality Study by JDpower which says that the most reliable cars are actualy Porsches :D Didnt you use to have a pic of a GT2 in your avatar, you should go for that, i know a guy who has one and hes been using it as his daily driver for 4 years (yes even in snow...damn lunatic the dam thing has got 500HP and only rear wheel drive) and it hasnt broken down once.
But seriously now, toyotas are great cars (even thought of buying one myself but instead went for a Hyundai which is fortunate since it also seems that its more reliable than toyota :D ) but as i said lexus is barely more than a rebadged toyota and as that a status symbol. So why not go for the cheaper toyota instead (obviously im ignorig the styling here, sometimes you just hate the way tha car looks and woudnt be cought dead driving it), you are getting a car as good as a lexus but for a lower price.
And those people complaining about german cars being high maintenance, they should try maintaining a small french hatchback. A motor for the electric window on a renault clio costs (without instalation) about 250€. The same problem on my godfathers 7 series cost him 75€ (instalation cost included and they brought him a cup of coffe while he waited for the car to get fixed). Dont know how the prices are in the US for these but i was amahen when i saw the bills for both repairs. |

Let me just get a quick word in here, i cant pass an opportunity to say bad things about american cars :D
I was at a drag race a week ago (actualy i went to see a drift challenge, i would never go to a drag race unless i would be thinking of commiting suicide by being bored to death) and while people were changing the tires on the drift cars i went to have a look at what people with no driving skills were doing. And there it was a 500HP black corvette C5 on the starting line next to a mean looking BMW 5 series. They went off and the C5 coudnt keep up. Same for the next two runs. Now you might be thinking, yeah that M5 with 507HP is fast and you would be right, that M5 is biblicly fast however the 5er racing the C5 wasnt an M5 it was a 535d tuned to 334 HP. Somehow the fact that a diesel beat a C5 made me happy :D |

| the reason why modern VWs might suck, is that most of them are made in mexico. is funny hearing a chick give car advice too :haha: the only thing chicks do for their car is maybe give it a wash every now and then. otherwise, they just drive them into the ground, then post a topic on a message board about how their car sucks. |

:nervous: driving a stick on I-95 :nervous: haha I think I'm going to see about taking my car to the mechanic tomorrow. I drove to the mall today and it was hopping. what does it mean when your car "hops"?
although, I love my car. I have a ford focus 2003 hatchback 4 door <3 |

honestly how many of these sports car drivers actually go racing?
silly ego contests is all that car speed comparison is, at some point you get diminishing returns, the extra speed doesnt do much for ya.
A car I want to have would allow me to reliably and affordably travel hundreds of miles every weekend, be secure enough to keep a decent stereo, and fast enough to get on the highway, racing performance just doesnt matter for most people!
im not just saying that cuz I like the vette, I just think it is silly how often people bring up races when the people talking about cars are NOT racers. |
