They spend the entire time talking about WHY NOW IS THE BEST TIME TO OWN/BUY/REPLACE your FORD/GMC/BIGASSINGTRUCK
Apparantley, it has been the best time to own one of them since 1994 when I first started to understand commercials. |

| the whole appeal of VWs in the 80s were they were the handyman's vehicle. They were amazingly uncomplex and everything could be fixed with basic tools and patience. computer chips and electric engineering |

My 01 VW GTI has been a great car. No complaints from me. One thing I did notice was that you have a 99 passat...right around that time was the first year of that bodystyle IIRC. Id never buy a car that was the first year run. 1.8T were known on the early years for having some issues mostly the coilpack. As far as the tranny...probably a bad syncro...not cheap but any car that has a tranny issue will cost you.
Car companies cant please everyone....there are people out there that say " Ill never buy a Lexus again" too. It sucks but it happens. I think Lexus' are dope ...especially the new models but they are great cars all around. Get one....doesnt mean that stuff wont happen to it...but the odds are better. |

what a friggin headache my passat has been since i got it. my warranty is up as of 5k miles ago and my mechanic just told me today he thinks i'm having transmission problems. he's having his transmission guy look at it tomorrow. i'm ed! |
This is exactly why, I'm getting an extended warranty, on my '03 Jetta. Hopefully, I won't ever be posting something like this.
Good luck, Slylee. :( |

for all the people who think japanese is better than german blah blah blah..heres an easy way to sum it up
want to beat it to and it still run fine? get a japanese car
want a car that looks and performs awesome and still has great amenities and what not? buy a german car.
german cars require more meticulous care and also require you to properly maintain your vehicle. something most people in the us dont do. if i could have afforded it i would have bought a gti r32 and not my subie rs wagon. i know there are things people say about them but hey. i love them. |
